You're some kind of stooopid!!!

Are y'all ready for more Idiocy???

Jaywalking is legal in California under the "Freedom to Walk Act," which took effect in January 2023. However, this doesn't mean it's safe or consequence-free; police can still cite pedestrians if they are crossing in a way that creates an immediate hazard to themselves or others.
should be open season on them, Idoits "Libiots" not safe at any speed
even walking across the streets, think they own it/or everything is theirs

Yup... On those occasions when Im walking & hit a crosswalk and traffic actually stops for me I put some hustle into crossing the road... Cause that's how I've always done it.... Yet people 20% of my age can't/won't do the same... We are doomed...
Same here

I think it's something they put in the waters out here, maybe it's the fluoride
the non-natives living in the inner-city 'urbanites' transients/stay overs, all from elsewhere,
mostly points east, them people are just stupid... & they can vote too

I hear stuff like that, and I always think about the story of the moron who bought a Winnebago - set off down the freeway and puts Auto-cruise on. Then gets out of the driver's seat to go down the back and make himself a coffee...at 70 mph.

Wonder why he crashed?
heard he went to make a sandwich

No, not any of y'all.....yesterday I drove through the Harris County Court House annex complex on my way to the house from the grocery store. Don't always do that unless the traffic out on the main road is bad and well, it's not illegal....just need to drive slow. Good thing I was too because some dumb butt woman walked right in front of me after getting out of her car. She didn't even look. Once she was out of killing range, I started to go again when I noticed she looked back over at her car and that caused me to look at what she was looking at. Her little girl (or someone's little girl) had got out of that car and started to run for her.

Another good thing is that I stopped somewhat short and had only rolled forward a couple of feet before stopping again and the paused when she saw me rolling forward. Once both of them were on their way again, I dropped the window and said "you're some kind of stooopid" as I rolled past but didn't say it very loud. If that little girl wasn't there, I could have said it much louder. The older I get, the more stooopid people I seem to run across. Sad thing about that is that I do not leave the house as much as I used to so I'm guessing that there are MANY of them walking and driving around.

:poke:

I'm all for walking anywhere I please, but this encourages people to cross streets at unsafe points. I wonder how much time and tax payer dollars went into making a law that states, "You can cross the street anywhere, but if a cop doesn't like where you're crossing, you're getting a ticket, anyways. Yep, idiocy.

Damn, as a card carrying Cali lib I had no idea, but now that I know….. I will still use a crosswalk whenever possible! Around here just crossing legally is risky, there are some places I avoid walking because of close calls.
The crosswalk at the local Cars n Coffee has been broken for a while and forces me to jaywalk, but cautiously and quickly, if I want to go a block over for donuts while the locals take in the beauty that is the Coronet. Every time I’ve done it I imagine a cop trying to issue a ticket since I didn’t know about the newish law.

The part I love is, it's not their fault, it's yours!

I refuse to cut across the Penn State campus when driving to points east of where I live because of the concentrated volume of idiots, both drivers and pedestrians. Most tragic example, a couple years ago, a rich international student ran onto the sidewalk and killed a young woman who was a semester away from a physics degree. His parents threw a ton of money at the victim's family and the school, prosecution for vehicular homicide was dropped.
