Hello all. I am a hard core car nut in to mostly BOP GM cars. I have come across a very nice 68 Coronet survivor 2 door that the current owner wants me to help sell. Its a bone stock unmolested 318 auto car running driving. Its a very rust free and straight complete New Mexico car. It had a one time repaint of driver quality. I would think it would be the perfect car to build from and maybe make a clone out of. I know what it takes to build a car and this one would easily save someone 10K or better in metal work from the average project car you see. I have an idea of what I think he can get but I am looking for some opinions from people in the Mopar loop. If I didn't have 5 irons in the fire I would love to have this one for myself. A late 60's B body is on my bucket list. I will try to have some pictures soon. I should have it to my shop soon to go over it with a fine tooth comb and give it a bath.

Look forward to seeing it, otherwise impossible to to put a value on it. Fender tag or build sheet with it?

welcome.pictures would give us a better idea on value.

Still waiting to get in my hands to get good pictures

Its real close to a #3 car. No rust ever straight chrome and trim and glass are perfect. Could use a little cleanup in the engine compartment. I forgot to say its low option non a/c 2 door sedan not a hard top. Power steering is the only option I noticed. If the car was a Chevelle non ss car its a 10,000-12,000 car easy. A base Cutlass in this shape would bring 7-8K pretty easy. His bottom dollar is $8500.00 and I will get a few bucks for cleaning it up and selling it for him. (he just doesn't want to mess with the tire kickers and dreamers) I was thinking if Mopars brought similar to GMs its going to sell at his price.

welcome when you get a chance post up a pic of all sides and interior and engine bay. and details on the car.

All I have for now is a spy shot over a fence zoomed as close as I could with my phone.

Tease!!

Looks like a base model, post coupe, probably a /6 or 318. Looks pretty solid and I like the color. `68's are my favorite.

Looks like a fairly desireable color and looks like the original body color steel wheels. A 318 car with no rust ever MIGHT fetch 8K from the right buyer, although even some more highly optioned cars with larger engines are having troube in the 8K and over range right now.

It is VERY solid. I have been all over the car just didn't have a camera with me at the time and I forget my phone has one. it does have a 318 in it with single exhaust. So could a base post coupe bring $8500.00 or am I wasteing my time trying to sell it for him? I should be bringing it to my shop this weekend but there is no use putting my time in this deal if he is way off on price and won't move. I am having a tough time gauging similar cars. Since I started researching a week ago. I find rough projects $1000-3000.00 or nice rt and chargers starting at 20K to the moon.

thanks that helps...I was typing my above post as you were posting at the same time

welcome to the FBBO forum. Nice car from that photo.

I took over 100 pics of the car today and posted a For Ad on this site. I need to get this thing out of my site quick. It was sitting across the street on my trailer as I was mowing today. Each time I turned I found myself looking at it and picturing a pro-touring themed 68 Super Bee. Then I pictured the gun my wife is holding pointing at me when I said I used the last of our savings to buy it. :icon_blackeye: We have twins due in about month and I just built a new 42 x 50 shop using money from the sale of the Olds below but also dipping deep into savings. If I use another dime I think I am done for.

This is the last car I built out of a survivor

NIce. I had a burgundy 66 98 with a 425 and 10 bolt posi. Once bought a convienience store completely out of every size bottle and can of Budweiser and still had room in the trunk. Also once snuck 5 people into a drive in and they were relatively comfortable.

Guy a year ahead of me in auto body (I was in auto mech) had a 66 Cutlas the same color and blew up the 335 (or whatever the smaller Olds motor was). I used to beg that guy almost every day to either sell me that Cutlass or buy my 98 for the drivetrain, but he never would do either.

That should be a good indicator for a ballpark. Its original paint and a better color and options but has a little rust and does not run. I would say over all they should be similar in value.

I have had a few people interested but could not justifie the price once they added shipping. I am dropping the price $700.00 to help anyone interested and better reflect the market on this car.
