Tires Size Help

I have the factory chrome plated steel road wheel and I'd like to keep it that way. The tires on there now is 215/75R14 I was wondering if these Mickey Thompson Tires would work:
M/T1036 L60-14
Tire Size: 295/60-14
Wheel Diameter: 14 in.
Tire Diameter: 28.00 in.
Section Width: 12.30 in.
Tread Width: 9.50 in.
Minimum Recommended Wheel Width: 7.00 in.
Maximum Recommended Wheel Width: 10.00 in.

Is the 15mm difference in tire diameter going to hurt anything besides my speedometer that doesn't work? And will this tires fit without any modifications on my 1967 Charger?

where did you find those size 14 inch tires at the biggest i can find so far is 245-70-14 at coker tires, i want 255-70-14, where did you find those at. thanks

Those tires are bias ply. It is not recommended to mix bias ply and radial. 295 tires are approx 3.1" wider than the 215's. Here is a tire size calculator to help.

All I want is a wide tire for the rear because I hate the gap of the wheel well. What size tire are you running on you '66?

I work at a tire shop.
Those M/T are too wide for the factory Road wheels.
You will need at least an 8 inch wide rim with a 4.5" backspacing to fit it.
Your factory wheels are only 5.5 or 6 inches wide.
You can get a widened wheel to match to fit them--plus as mentioned you cannot mix bias with radial.So go with a matching smaller M/T up front.
Or go with a BFG radial T/A in a 2456014.
Another suggestion is upgrade to 15 inch wheels to expand your options and more readily available rims and tires since most 14 inch are going away with the do-do bird.

Its OK to run bias on the rear and radial on the front but not the other way around. Source: Good/year tire sales school. Those 295's should be just fine. I ran L60/15's on 8" wheels on my 67 GTX with no problem.

I got the info from the Good Year Tech site

"For best all-around performance, it is recommended that all tires be of the same size, construction (radial,non-radial) and speed rating."

True. They didn't specify that you can't do it, just that it's not recommended.
