Is it possible to remove the wiring harness and sockets from the housing?

According to my manual you should be able to separate them.

They are pressed in from both sides and can be removed, but you will have to replace the sockets and splice the wiring. Do a backup light first(since most don't work) and you will see how it's put together and help you so you don't destroy the others. Be very careful as the housings are plastic and weakened with age, paying attention not to break the housing mounting tabs.

That was a very idoitic thing for chrysler to do!!
I have one with the mounting tabs broken off, so I will test on that one.
