Hello, I am brand new to this site and I think it is great. I am not an expert when it comes to restoration, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night. I have recently purchased and will post pics soon of a long time family owned 1969 Roadrunner. I am deep into the restoration on both the body and motor. This is an original car with numbers matching 383 motor and tranny. What I am wondering is the fender tag indicates it had a horizontal stripe. I am wondering how to figure out what color. The only ones that I have seen have been white. This is a Y-4 color with the stripes on the hood and the horizontal stripe. Any and all help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I beleive the stripe code on the fender tag codes the color. post a picture of your fender tag and I can probably tell you.

Thank you for your reply. Rather than go to the shop where it is, I hope it is ok to list the tag here. I certainly can get a pic later if you still want it. Here you go.

Thank you so very much. It is a neat thing to connect with people that have so much knowledge. It seems that the Y4 color is somewhat uncommon, or at least I have not seem many in this color. Also what is body belt moulding?

It is the optional moulding that runs along the top of the door and top of the quarter panel to the bottom of the back of the rear side window. Most often seen in conjunction with a vinyl top. In your case it came in the Spring Special package. The Spring Special option is also seldom seen on these cars as most people were interested in keeping the cost down on their perfromance car. That was the reason the RR was created. Most that wanted a "fancier" car (and could afford the extra insurance) bought the GTX.

Moulding

This is the best pic I have that shows it I think. I would assume the window moulding is what you are talking about? Thanks again for the great help.

Nope. It is on the SIDE of the car and kind of "frames" the bottom of the side glass but is attached to the top of the door and quarter panel under the rear SIDE glass.

Body belt moulding are the mouldings at the belt line of the car which would be on the side, center of the fenders, doors, snd quarters. This is basically a moulding to keep the shopping cart dents down.It is a harder to find option and most people take them off when they redo a car.But a body belt moulding and the stripe? I suppose its possible I have seen odder things on Mopars.

Ok, guess I am going to need to find a pic so I can see what I need to hunt for. Thanks again.

It would be unlikely that the moulding is missing.

Look on the outside of the top of the door. It is a shiney moulding about 1/2" wide that will run along the top of the door skin. It butts up to the very small shiney trim piece that the window felt (cat whiskers) are attached to that the window glass slides against.

69 Runner that moulding and the belt moulings are BOTH in the A15 spring special package. Jim

Yes, I noted that in one of my above posts but didn't take the time to type all of the items in that package as it is quite extensive.

Belt mouldings in the A15 package and body belt mouldings M31 are two different mouldings I believe.I do think you are right on the belt mouldings. But M31 Body belt moulding I have always seen it as the nasty moulding that runs down the length of the body center fenders, doors, and quarters. Jim

That car I pictured doesn't have the A-14 package. No vinyl top. But it does have rocker moldings and fender mounted turn signals.

Btw, the white book lists the 69 A-14 (RM) as
vinyl top
chrome styled road wheels
belt moldings
performance hood paint
sport stripe
sure grip
fiberglas belted RWL tires F70/14
