brake booster question

I am putting power brakes on my 69 runner will a booster off any other car fit that I could go to the yard to get one ? thanks

I can try and find a part number off of mine unless somebody answers you first. Also you might want to call what ever yard you are thinking of searching. A lot of times those guys have cross reference books and will know what parts will cross to our cars.

I'm sure there are others that will "fit" on the car. Remember, you will need the pedal to booster rod (different than on manual brakes) and the correct plunger type rod from the booster to the master cylinder. The backing plate is also usually different from manual to power brakes.

People do what they want for their own reasons (if I build my Dart, it will have 4 wheel disc on it), but unless you are planning on driving the car in a lot of stop and go traffic, I've never really seen a reason to change. The factory 11" brakes are more than enough to haul the car down....once. That's all I ran on my Challenger, which weighed 3960 and ran 110+ mph in the quarter. The brakes WOULD have faded if I had to do a round robin or road raced, but they stopped that horse just fine.....once

I switched the front to disc brakes so I should have power brakes correct?

It's a good idea on a B body, but Mopar put non power disc brakes on A bodies and they worked fine.

I have manual brakes on my 70 Road Runner retrofitted with 74 Dart disk brakes. I would get power steering before I got power brakes, but that's just me.

I have manual Disc brakes on my 69 runner. i use a mid to late 1990s dodge truck non-power master cylinder. it has internal proportions of 63/37 front to rear bias and seem to work great. Several aftermarket companys offer power or non-power replacements, do a little checking it should be an easy fix.

found a late 60s fury in the junck yard brake booster fit using the plate off the fury and at the car show I went to today it was the same as a 70 superbird that was there. just some info if anyone cares

Do you happen to know the bore diameter of that MC? On my 69 RR I'm going with 11.75" F and Imperials in the rear (just because I have them) and I plan on using the factory Imperial MC in a manual application. The bore on the Imperial MC is 1.062" and I was thinking that might be a bit high on the pedal effort. I can sleeve down to 1" but hate to go through the trouble if I don't have to.
