Hi all!!
I'm thinking of buying headers for my 68 Sport Satellite (383 HP) I have looked on several brands and talked to some local "gearheds"
and have as many different answers as guys I have talked too!!
I really like TTI's "Polished Ceramic Coated with a Thermal Barrier" they are a little bit pricy but are they worth the extra $?
Any other suggestions.

Good thing is you're looking for headers for something common.....a B body with a big block.

TTI makes some of the best stuff on the market and you rarely if ever hear anyone bitch about the fit. Guess that, and the ceramic coating, makes them worth the extra cash

For cheap headers, I bought Headmans. I havent put them in my 72 but I'm quite sure I won't have any problems

On my 70 the Hedmans hit the driver side torsion bar and had other problems. The Hookers don't worth with power steering. I shoulda gone with TTI in the first place.

I have Hooker Super Competition and they fit like a glove on the 70 RR.

im on a budget so i went cheap and you get what you pay for i bought summit racing headers for my 69 440 gtx (they were less than $150) and i pre fit them to the engine before i had the engine in the car and thank god i did because the mounting holes didnt line up i had to hone them out a bit to get them to bolt up thankfully the header ports i got were much larger than the head ports to so shifting them slightly wasnt a problem. once i got the engine in the car is when the fun really began. you cant drop the engine in from the top with the headers on so engine went in with out next you cant drop the headers in from the top they gotta come up from the bottom and you cant have your starter bolted in either. i was able to get the pass on with the car just on stands but the driver side i had to have the car on stands and use a engine hoist to raise that side of the engine then i had to reinstalll the starter berfore i bolted the headers down talk about a P.I.T.A. and now i have to do it all over again soon so i can prep and paint the engine bay :(

Hate to tell you, but that is pretty much the installation procedure whether the headers are cheap or expensive

I HAD Hedmans on my Satellite and I think there a piece of trash and I wish I would have invested money in nicer headers to begin with. My hedmans are now all jacked up and sitting on the side of my house and my shiny new TTI's are hanging in the garage waiting to be bolted up to my small block. Have never heard a single complaint about TTI and I will say the Hedmans did fit well enough but I also have a small block car.

Bought a set for my '62 Plymouth MW, and the fit was great. No problems at all...TTI's are the way to go if you can afford them. I suggest if you can't afford TTI's--------Save your money up and then go with ........ TTI's...the choice is a slam dunk for sure.

Hey moparstuart it looks like your '69 RR is manual steering, correct? Would you forsee the fitment being more difficult with a '69 Runner power steering, column shift car?

My car is a column shift car and there is plenty of room up by the box , so i dont think the power stuff, would be a problem . The hookers fit reallly well . Now on a 440 I have no idea ? Both my 440 cars i'm running stock manifolds .

Not to hijack this thread, but anybody know what size the flange where the pipes meet a stock manifold is?? 1 7/8" maybe??? Thanks Mar :)

Cool if they work good that should save me a little bit of money. How old are your headers in the picture? and are they 1 7/8"
