Legitimate Street Car ET's

The Drums Are FASTER Because There Is Less Friction AND Weight And Reciprocating Weight Mass!..

I had drums On My TITANIC Super Stocker down into the 9's But Would Wonder If I Was Gonna Stop At The Big End Every Time I Ran...Soo I Went To 4-Wheel Wilwoods..

69 Roadrunner 440, 906 iron heads, BG 775 Golden Claw carb, 727, 92 octane car, has run a best of 10.90 and runs 11.00's all day. Just upgraded to a Dana 60 and a trans brake so we'll see how that affects it this Saturday at the track. Going to try EFI and some nitrous next...

Nice car... could you elaborate a little more on your engine build? Sounds right along the lines of what I would like to achieve.

Pump Gas Iron Head RR Update

It's really beautiful! Keep us posted!

Ran good today, ran a best of 10.84 at 124mph... Did develop a trans leak though after about 12 runs that put me on the trailer. Not sure what's up, it's coming from under the scatter blanket. I hope it's not another cracked case as it would be the 2nd one....

Here are some picts from the track:

How about 12:50's 68 RR 383; 11:90's 70 Cuda 440-6Pak; 65 Dodge 318 2brl 17:10's; 70 Challenger 426 HEMI 11:40's; Cuda 340-6Pak 13:00's. Just a few of my past cars. I would load pictures if I could figure how.

What type fuel are you using in this beautiful machine?

I am running 92 octane pump gas in my Roadrunner. I didn't want to have to "look" for fuel when on the street or plot out where I can find it. I actually lost HP (-8 hp) on the dyno when I tried race fuel on a couple of pulls. The plugs read great and all is well.

Same hear as I have the stock power drum brakes at all four corners. :) Ron

Mine are non-power drums on all 4 corners running 10.84 @124..:steering:...They work as they should but you definitely need to be paying attention and the only return road I know with this car is the last one. If I had to make a panic stop, I think I could make the first road but have never needed to. I think this car has a 10.50 in it and much faster than that and I'll need to upgrade the binders...

I have a build close to yours and I've tried the 110 racing fuel with no gain either. It sure is nice to race on common fuel. Most of my Shivvy friends cannot get away with it and are running slower e.t.'s!

I'm on my 4th 66/67 Coronet, and they all seem REALLY light to me. Very easy to push/pull around by myself, even uphill sometimes and for a fair distance??!?

Back in the 1980's I pushed one for almost three blocks and across an intersection to a gas station (fuel guage only worked from 7/8 to full).

This one's got a big block and seems a bit heavier, though.

1973 Duster 360 mild build 3:23 rear- 14.60

1970 Super Bee 400 van motor 2bbl 3:55 rear bias ply- 14.10

1966 Coronet 440 poly 318 bone stock 2bbl 68K miles- fast enough to smoke every Monte Carlo SS on the street in 1985

Do You Have A SOLID Rear Mount On The Trans?...I Broke A Couple Due To Having Solid Rear Mounts. The Driveshaft HAS To Have A Little Free Movement.

That is a sweet ride...I really like that body style.

I run a polyurethane bushed mount on the tranny. I run a soft engine mount on the pass side and a solid engine mount on the driver's side. My tranny leak was coming out the vent. It seems that I had the fluid level on the high side of the safe zone and when it heated up it found its way to the vent... This was the logic I got from my tranny guy anyway who said to run it on the "ADD" line when it's warm and all should be well. Also found out that I now need a locking dipstick now that I am running 10's.

Are the King of the Krates Hemi's or Indy?
