How Rare Is This

When I was younger and living in Vermont I had a friend that had a gold 1971 Dodge Coronet wagon that had a big block (don't remember what size) and a four speed with a pistol grip. He had wrecked it and had it stripped to a shell and said someday he would rebuild it. A few years later he went out west and came home with another one. This one was a dark green car with woodgrain so I think it was a Crestwood wagon and it had a green interior with the pistol grip. Last year I went to the Mopars with Big Daddy show in Ocala Florida and saw another one in the spectator parking lot. I just wonder how rare these wagons are and if the same combo was also available in a 71-74 Satellite wagon as I have never seen one. Also I have never seen that combo in a 72-74 Coronet wagon. Was it a 71 only package? I have lost contact with the friend in Vermont so I don't know what became of those two cars. I love wagons. Any pics? Thanks Gregg

Anyway, you mentioned in your post you knew someone up in Vermont who has or had a green 71 Dodge Coronet Crestwood 4spd ? I have a few pics here of the one I got from a guy who had one for sale in Vermont in 2001. The person who had it for sale went by the name of Peter Thuesen. Odds are it is the same car... I do have Peter's e-mail address, but I don't know if it is still active. PM me if you want it.

Also, about your inquiry if the same motor/trans option was available on the 71 Plymouth B-body wagon; I know that there was at least one. This one was for sale about 8-10 years ago somewhere in the New York area on E-bay/moparts.com:

I don't know what became of this Satellite. Originally a 383HP car, but the original engine was replaced by a 440.

Thank you SuperFly TNT for your reply. This is the same car I was referring two. Peter had brought this car back to Vermont from California. If memory serves me correctly he had brought two cars and used the Coronet as the tow vehicle. I don't remember what the second car was. I worked with Peter at Rhoades Salvage in Milton Vermont back between 1978 and 1982. Peter was a body man and wanted to repair wrecks rather than strip and crush them. Peter owned some of the best cars that I remember from that era. One of my favorites was a 1974 Dodge Charger SE Brougham that was black with a white cobra grain SE vinyl top with the opera windows. Peter had bought the car used from Nordic Ford. After he got it he jacked up the back of it, added Crager SS wheels and white raised letter BFG's, and also chrome side pipes similar to what was seen on many Corvettes that had the four collector pipes that went into one. The interior was white and black with the white bucket seats and T-handle console shifted automatic on the floor. One day I want the same (similar) car. Peter had also had a few F-body Super Coupes and also at least one Sport Wagon. I also want a Sport Wagon eventually. Peter also had some other rare cars that were not Mopar. He had a Ford Granada ESS, a few Chevy Camaro IROC rag tops and a few Corvettes too.

As far as me I have a 74 Dodge Charger Rallye that is supposed to be 1 of 1. It is a 318/3 spd standard on the column, bench seat no option car. It is red with black interior. It is a restoration project. I'm waiting on rear quarters to become available for it. I have many other Mopars but nothing really rare. Gregg

That green Crestwood 4 speed car was for sale back in 1992 when I bought my 383 4 speed Crestwood in Illinois.
The guys I bought my Crestwood from showed me an ad in Hemmings fof the green Crestwood 4 speed car. The ad for the green car stated it was one of three made.
The story about the gold wagon being wrecked and this green wagon still being around adds some creedence to that one of three claim.
My Crestwood is white and is still around. Its listed on this forum in another thread.

In the mid 70's My Dad got a 68' Coronet Wagon that he gave to my Mom (he was working for Chrysler in some capacity), had the Crager's on it, but my Mom wanted more. She had him put a 4-speed and bucket seats in it. I was 3 or 4 at the time, but I remember it being a light blue/silver...wish I had a picture.
