I heard he lost the Hemi deal because he could not come up with a lousy 450.00 bucks. He really blew that deal.

I remember that car well. I was told about it by someone that works for Richardson Glass in Newark, so I went to look at it. I did leave a note on the Charger but never got a call back. This was a couple years ago. It is definitely a 72 SE. I later bought a low mile one owner 73 Rallye but I'm not so sure the 72 SE might have been a better car since my Rallye had set outside in Toledo behind the guys garage for over 20 years..

Anyway, Apparently the Hemi-Belvedere was either moved to Logon where I'm assuming she has kids or it was sold to the guy across the street that he mentioned in one of his other posts...

Nick (Turning Home 74) sent me a message this morning with this reply...

Yea it actually is. met with the owner and she sold the hemi car which stinks...but I talked with her and I am buying the charger when she gets the title and keys they are in Logan...my dad used to live next to her a long time ago and wanted to get the car years ago but she never answered the door... but yea it actually is still at her house just waiting for her to bring the keys back...I am very happy with it and I may end up paying a few hundred more because she needs the money...

That's the end of this? Wow! So we don't know for sure if he even actually bought and got the Charger home, or if this "hemi-thingy actually exists? I am not saying he made this up or anything, just kind of a weird story to be just hanging out there, at this point. Hope to hear more.....

what about the guy across the street with the road runner ? didnt he SUPPOSEDLY walk over and ask turning home if he just bought the hemi,,,,and he told him " yes i did" ?

My 2 cents-lesson learned here--if you have cars and you don't wan't this to happen then make a will or trust or something-women(not all) just wan't the money--they don't know the value of what they have--should he have been more forth comeing with her(250 for car and trailor) no deal just not knowing about the price-glad the car sold and will be taken care of--but remember what goes around comes around--good story though

The guy across the street probably got hold of a family member and made a realistic offer. You know they jumped on the money.

Deals like this are far and few between, you better have cash in your pocket and close the deal immediately or risk losing it.

You dont walk away from those kind of deals without a reciept showing where you paid for it. And if people don't have the cash, Give the info to someone else that does.

Yes I'm from the old school where your word is your bond and a hand shake sealed the deal (20-30 years ago) but we are living in a world now that does't mean a whole lot anymore!!! Although there are rare occasions of this still happening.

The more I think about it, that "old lady" was pretty slick. She teased him with the thoughts of a cheap Hemi only to get that POS Charger off the yard. According to his last posts he never had even seen the Hemi.
Too bad, I was hoping he would score it.

Men do it too. I once had an agreement to buy an exhaust system listed on this site only to have the (male) seller contact me and state someone showed up at his door and bought it with cash...after he had agreed to sell it to me.

I'm cut from the same cloth as ply64post, in that my word is my bond. If I make an agreement, I stand by it. If one's word can't be counted on, then they deserve no trust or respect.
