I have a few questions.

1. My hood release handle and cable were missing when I bought this car. I found a new one and would like some pictures/info on the routing of the cable. The hold down clips are still in place along the top of the front brace where it secures and feeds into the release and it appears to be obvious where it goes through the hole in this radiator core support but there are no clips to retain it to the inner fender. I am assuming it is supposed to run along the inner fender along side of the fender tag.

2. I am missing the side covers for the inside of the trunk to cover the jack and the passenger side. There is a turn button there on the jack side and nothing on the passenger side but the covers are gone. Are these some type of formed hardboard that are carpet covered? Are they available repo and if so from whom.

3. Is the trim on the top of the fenders that runs the full length of the body anodized or stainless steel? I am looking for tip to polish it.

4. I am also missing the original cigar lighter knob in cas anyone has an extra one for sale.

Help on the way (a little Grateful Dead reference there).

The release cable sits on the inner fender (clips I think) and pretty much hooks up like you say but I'll post detailed pics when I get home.

The filler boards are masonite, again, as you expected. There is a little chrome/stainless twisty button holing it in but will verify in a couple of hours if they are on both sides. I am 99.9999% sure there is a button on the jack side.

I have no idea where to get this stuff as I didn't do the car but I'm good friends with Hoffman and I'm sure I can get some leads from him.

Worst case, if you want to make your own jack cover I can make you a template from mine. That is if it's a hassle finding repos or repos that are worth a darn.

Something else.

My car had a trunk light and still has the metal tab with the switch and the right angle connection but that is all. Where does the light bulb go and secure to?

Thanks guys.

Hi,
The side covers are some type of cardboard material and there is not supposed to be carpet on them. There is also a cover across the back that is molded plastic and it covers the tail lights. It gets brittle and not sure if anyone repos them.

The trim on the top of the fenders is anodized aluminum and has to be stripped before you polish it.

They are repoping the the C and J trims now.

Good luck and enjoy. They are fun to work on.
Regards,

Here are some pics.

Didn't see this request before I took the trunk pics, but it's someplace in the middle sort of under the rear window. I'll get another pic.

I've seen those trunk panels on ebay. Some on there now but are red. You could contact Doug and see if he has black ones. He also repoed the tail lamp panel.

I can check if my parts car has a good lighter.

I believe Ledgendary has them. They have a trunk dress up package but no pictures of it listed for 66-67 Charger.

Who is Doug?

If he is on the 66-67 Charger forum I STILL can't log on there as I have heard many others have that problem.

Since I can't log on I can't send a PM or get any info like an email address.

The administrator posted that he is traveling a lot and working late hours and has not responded to my messages.

You should look at BE&A, they are repoping lots of parts. I spent a boat load for my 67 Charger. You can get 67 turn signal indicators, rear j trim, complete tail light and trim, trunk emblem, grill emblem, black dash pad, instrument bezel, front grill surrounds (vans too), back up lights, and probably more things I forgot.

I bought my 67 only because of all the things available.

Oh, trust me, I am well aquinted with the BE&A catalog. I have been planning this car purchase and what I what to end up with when done for over a year and had already bought or had available many things BEFORE I even bought a car.

I just added a list of stuff to this thread:

You'll need to be carefull removing that ridge trim, Doug has new clips available for the quarter section and the clips forward of the quarter, as for refinishing they are anodized so ther is a procedure to getting them to look like new,..have them picked and straghtened first at a reputable restorer or metalworker, then have them de-anodized and polished , make sure its a reputable shop, the trim is aluminum and it heats quickly while polishing, when the polising is done you can leave the trim raw and polish it yourself yearly or have the trim re-anodized. It's gonna set you back a few hundred but it will be worth it.

By the way......if you havn't got a polishing wheel now.you may want to get one......that 1st gen Charger has days of polishing in it......l.l.ask me how i know,....im still polishing stuff for mine.almost done.
