Experts,

Is there a difference in 71-74 Charger, Challenger and Cuda front bucket seats? I ask because I'm looking for a set of front bucket seats to finish a 71 Charger father/son project. I am finding front buckets for 72-74 Challengers and Cuda's but none for Chargers which prompted my concern. Any assistance is greatly appreciated guys!

You sure about the tracks being different?

I think the 71 (and 70) has some minor frame differences 9and the plastic back), but other than that I think you could use just about any 70-77 A/B/E body bucket and aside fro mthe cover and foam it would be 90% the same.

They made lots of 75-77 Chargers and Cordobas with leather buckets, and the ones from a 77 bolted right into my 73 Duster.

72-74 E-Body buckets have soft backs with no plastic cover and just a small hinge cover. 72-76 A-Body seats would be the same.

1973 buckets and rear seats $275 plus SHIPPING or pick up Fargo ND 58047

Front floor pans are the same on B/E cars, so I'd guess the tracks will swap...not sure if there are height differences though between them.

76 and 77 seats also work.

Not sure about 78, but 79 is different style.

Lots of Corinthian leather in 76/77 too.

Man I'm still confused (and searching for buckets),

I have a 1971 Satellite. Am I understanding correctly that any bucket seat from 70-77 A,B or E body has the correct seat frame... then its just a matter of covers/foam, seatbacks, hinge covers, etc? Are the correct seat tracks only found in 71-74 B's or are the tracks the same all the way to 1977?

talking about frames

70 and first 71 half are diff from second 71 half and lates. The push release button is considerable larger on earliers. These seats as far I know got springs on backs too

Then backs panels are diff too. Earliers got metallic hinge cover and plastic section interchanges from side to side, keeping the metallic covers on the correct side. The laters are full plastic one pieces including hinge covers and this makes not to interchange from side to side

Actually, I think bottoms are the same all years

up to 72s, the release button was chromed on laters backs design, then from 73 are matching colors.

AT LEAST ON B BODIES, 70/71s are the same foam, then 72/74

covers of course changes allong with foams. 74s got same seam and design pattern but diff vinyl surface pattern

E and 71/74 B bodies are same tracks, floor is the same. Dunno 70 Bs

dunno anything about post 74 B bodies, or any year A bodies

The 70-71 seats had the seperate metal hinge covers. The one piece back started in 72.

A-Body seat tracks will not work in a B-Body, they are not high enough and are to short front to back. 75-80 Mopar buckets will bolt up and work in 71-74 B-Bodies. 70-74 E-Body seats will work in 71-74 B-bodies. 72-74 E-Body seats have soft backs not the hard plastic backs.

One piece back started mid 71 as stated.
Soft back started 73 ALL models.
71/2 B's have common foam
70B foam is the same as A-body
70B tracks 70B only.
71/4B and E tracks will work in either but B tracks are about 1" taller or so.
70/4E and 71/4B have the same frame.
70B & A-body frames are alittle different than the others so I've been told over the years but have not compaired for myself.
I do have a nice set a 71 A buckets and several sets of 71/2B and 70/2E's. I'll be checking for myself when I re-cover the A's.

Hey Nacho. How are you doing? Big election year for you too.
What do you disagree on the B's. Back or foam?
man, my typing sucks.

Big election year but REALLY bad decision on who won

about what of what you posted I'm disagreed, both statements I quoted from your reply.

72/74 seat covers are the same, ( just vinyl pattern changes on 74s ) so imposible to fit a 71 foam into a 72 cover.

and all Chargers with buckets got hard back covers.

Both my 71 and 72 SSP's have thier original buckets. Same covers. Same foam other than my 71 is an early car with the foam molded into the frame. Same seat other than my 71 has 3-piece backs and 72 1-piece.

Here is my 72. Original tracks, frames and foams. Covers are from my buddies 71 RR and are the same as what came on it. Like I said, I have several sets of these, like 7 or 8 sets right now and have sold around another 5 sets.
Now on the Charger backs, they are hard through 74?

Hey Nacho while on the subject, could you or anyone else post pics of your 73/4B bucket seat tracks? Most of the 73/4B's that I've had were bench seaters. The 73 SSP that I sold to Hotwheels Jr. had buckets but all my pictures of it are lost in my crashed hard drive. I have what I think must be 73/4B tracks. The same, but different, than my 71/2B's.
