I saw this 2014 Stingray reveal - and thought the 'stingray' emblem sure looked a lot like a Mopar M...

I would have to agree it looks like a sideways m for mopar

Through all the years the vette and camaro were made together, they never resembled each other. Now they do. To me they don't even look like their names anymore. At least you can still see Challenger in a Challenger.

Not really. There is some similarity but I don't think it was meant as a copy.

I'm not a Chevy guy, and I don't really like Corvettes, but I would buy that car.

"Good-eyes" Northwest!
Yup, looks close.
BTW: the new for 2014 Corvette is pretty sweet looking...
But: not my cup-of-tea
(I like coffee)

the front of the new vette looks like they copied it from the new viper....

I'm an Admin on a Corvette enthusiast site. The main "complaint" (if you want to call it that) is about the tail lights. But almost everyone seems to really like what Chevy has done, myself included. But tail lights aside, it doesn't even closely resemble the new Camaro. There may be a few styling cues taken from the car, but that's always the case. I wouldn't be surprised if there were some styling cues taken from the Viper as well. It's how cars are designed. You try to take what works and make it unique. I also like the fact that they brought back the Stingray name and that all of the vents and louvres are functional and serve a purpose.

Everyone complained when the Corvette lost the hidden headlights too. Some designs take time to grow on people.

Along with my Mopars, I own a 1994 ZR-1 and a 2010 Grand Sport. I'll be trading in the Grand Sport for a C7 during the second (2015) model year. In black. :glasses10:

A real MOPAR nut will see a MOPAR reference in just about everything he sees. Even if it's just another hallucination.:pink banana:

..........it doesn't even closely resemble the new Camaro.

It does to ME, and that's all that counts to ME. From the back to around the rear quarter, it looks like glorified camaro. .....or big pile of steamin dog doo, it's all the same. That's MY opinion, which you cannot change, so I suggest you build you a bridge and get over it, mr admin.

I like Corvettes - I think they didn't goof it up. Vette owners should like this.

I personally think they might have tried a bit too hard to make it look 'modern'. A few too many edges and wedges in my opinion.

That bottom-of-door effect does make the Corvette and Camaro related.

the viper srt-4 makes the new vette look like ****. i could go the rest of my life without seeing another vette

Vipers were built for midgets, at least a full size man can sit in a Vette. The Viper looks meaner though for sure but I couldnt get into the drivers seat of the one I tried to get in

Looks like all they did was reverse it.....but other than that, it really doesn't look like a Camaro. I mean just about all the manufactures take ques from other cars.....

Wow. Didn't realize that you are the only one on this site entitled to an opinion, and who says I was looking to change anything? The only bridge needed here is the one you should use to get over yourself there, general.

Real classy welcome for a new poster here. :icon_rolleyes:

Seems to me that you are the one that needs to get over things. Maybe you should build a bridge. Try not coming across as a miserable old coot in all your posts.

I am the only one entitled to MY opinion. Just like you are entitled to yours. See how that works?

You bet. Except that I don't jump all over someone because they happened to have a different point of view. But we'll just agree to disagree and leave it at that.

You could be right. It looks like Chevy decided to be somewhat Ferrari-esque with the design. A buddy of mine was part of the design team for the C5 many years ago and he told me that Chevy leans heavily on how the car goes through the wind tunnel. This time they were shooting for a drag coefficient of less than .34 and cornering in excess of 1G (which, if my college engineering classes haven't failed me, is incredibly tough to do).

LOL Dawg is on vacation till next week...and not a self-imposed vacation at that...
