Hi, looking for info to ID a charger I am possible giving up my two wheel ride for...I know for sure it is a 1972..it does not have exhaust cut outs in the rear valance and it does not have any indentations on the doors...im getting the vin and fender numbers from him any time now as I need to have it id'd as a legitimate car. it has a 3 speed on the floor that the owner believes was added but i see no marks on the column for a shifter or on the floor as evidence of a console or bench seat..it has a 318 with 2 barrel carb but the owner believes it to be a original slant six car..what id info on the tag will give it away right away? it has black buckets with no console..black and blue interior with a primed exterior..original exterior was a gold/green color..thanks for any info i can get...just for your knowledge I am trading up a 1971 right side shift Harley Sportster with some upgrades...this car is solid and runs and drives..thanks again

be careful, i bought a 71 charger with a 72 front clip and dash that was titled as a 72 once so check front and back side markers and look it over real good.

it was a black pistol grip, console 4-speed car with a 4.10 SG in it though so i bought it anyway. also had a AM-FM radio.

also in 70 the RR had a 3 manual as the standard trans to keep it under $3K so that's not suspect for that reason. does the car have fender tag?

Yes check to make sure the VIN plate matches the core support number and the door tag(if still there).

it is supposed to have a fender tag and i am supposed to get the vin and tag numbers today...its a ways from me...I will work on pic's to help with ID ing it...thank you for the help...the 5th digit should reveal what im worried about..if it was a 6cyl car and now has a 318...how did they get it in...hopefully not by hacking anything up.

the serial number is also under the weatherstripping on a 70 B body trunk drip trough/rail...not sure about 71 and up. you can look up from underneath to find it. it's on the drivers side upper top corner about a foot or two in toward the middle towards the rear window IIR

there are no wm in 72 dodge charger

in 1971 wm is a superbee:VB toast:
the vin numbers are on the door dash fender tag rad cowl on a 71- 74 b-body
numbers on the cowl are located on the overhanging sheet of metal just above the wiper motor.
