Who puts parts stickers on stuff?

Like a few others have said, I'm not into advertising for free. Heck, Ive even removed the (don't kill me here) GM emblems off my daily driver. The dealers stickers on cars when I buy them come off right away. At one point, I was buying a used car from a dealer and when I went to pick it up, they were proceeding to put the sticker on, I told them, "Don't waste putting that sticker on there." They said "Why?" I told them "I'll just take it off when I get home." They looked at me funny, then I said, "Well you could put it on there, but that would be worth about $100/month for the advertising." They didn't put it on......

I've done the same thing on the only two new cars I've ever purchased. I told them I would need some cash for the advertising. The Dodge dealer in SA wasn't too happy but complied. The other dealer was OK and just happy to make a sale. They gave the dealer badge to me which I put away with the window sticker.

I got that in 91;I think that's the year he picked up the Hooters sponsorship. I was devastated when he passed;we both shared a Polish heritage,and the initials are the same. RIP,Alan.

I have stickers all over every available surface in my garage - workbench, toolbox. In fact, I'm running out of sticker space. I don't see it as advertising as I'm the only one in my garage most of the time. It's more of a remainder to me of what aftermarket parts I've put on my cars and motorcycles over the years. Plus I grew up in the '70s getting cool stickers they would give away at gas stations like STP and Wynn stickers that I would then plaster on my Schwinn Stingray.

But I don't like putting them all over my car, even a beater like my Satellite. I only have one Engle Cams sticker on the quarter window of my Satellite because I think it is a cool logo and it's a small family-owned cam company based in SoCal that has Mopar roots going back to the '50s. Check out old pictures of Top Fuel Hemis and you always see the Engle sticker on the front of the big Hemi valve covers. So I think it's a cool link to the past.

It's not advertising. It's decoration. My wife came home with a nice drawered tool cart from HF form my birthday Friday. I've already splattered it with stickers. Stickers are part of car culture. If you aren't using any, you're missin somethin.

IMHFO only on race cars & then only for contingency sticker money, you have to have certain parts, to even qualify for said contingency funds, even if you have the stickers...

Stickers are mandatory items when dealing with cars and tools and parts. I give them out with every sale as well. They are cool and advertise but give the sense of racing and performance. Real race cars have sponsors name plastered all over the place. Stickers are vindication Mine go on the tool box

Adding them to a car actually does add HP same as stripes

stickers on the tool box only. DW doesn't give me crap about the stickers or signs or neon or tools or framed posters or cabinets or car models.... etc. of course i don't say anything about the spinning wheels or looms or sewing machines or art work or herbs or books or fabric or yarn or shoes... etc. it all balances out i guess.

I don't put stickers on my Charger. I don't want to even contemplate ever having to pull them off or chisel off the glue residue. I'm mighty tempted to put the bumpersticker "For every animal you don't eat, I eat 3" on my truck, but I haven't done it yet. Also thinking about putting a "Zombie Hunting Permit" on my truck.

The only brand name clothing I wear is a Mopar shop shirt, it has the Mopar logo embroidered on the back in blue. So bad ***. My wife is royally sick of this shirt- I wear it all the time. When I get home today, I'm going to put it on, grab a beer, crank some AC/DC, and wash my Charger! If she don't like it, she can go make me a sandwich.

The only stickers on my cars are anti Obama stickers (Calvin pissing on him, the don't tread on me flag, the Thomas Jeferson quote found at the bottom of my page, etc). I just don't like running around with brand names stamped all over my clothes or vehicles, I do however like to decorate my toolbox with the stickers and own a few Mopar shirts and sweaters.
