First pics of my new project 71 Bird

She is a matching numbers 4G (four Gold LOL) RR. Gold top Gold Stripe Gold paint Gold interior. with a Cassette, buckets and console and strato vent. I think she is a pretty rare bird. Can't wait to get this project rebuilt. The matching numbers 383 is at the engine shop now, getting magnafluxed and tanked.

i would say yes to both..
i know i have seen them in a sebring plus and a charger and a gtx before
never in a runner..

Interesting, your gold dash pad turned brown like mine, if you look it has little metallic flakes in it. My RR is the exact combo except white exterior and I don't know if it had a 1/2 vinyl or not.

Me either but the interior is all orig. totally un molested down to the retro RR rubber floor mat. I have the build sheet and the interior is M6Y3 GY4 So maybe that is a clue? And she has R26 AM radio Cassette.

here is a better pic the one above is the driverside and I have already removed the medalion off of it. I found this car behind a guys house in a shed and it had not seen the light of day in over 15 years. He is the first person I have ever met that realized that he was never going to get around to it and sold it. He also had a 70 challenger (outta my price range) and a General Lee. I was like a time capsule when I got it home.. all the way down to the orig trunk mat and jacks this car is complete. The only thing I have noticed not original is the car had a 440 in it when I got it, but the numbers matching 383 block came with car, and the two front fenders were swapped out.

Well with the 383 in the shop I tried to get the 440 that is in it running and in true mopar fashion with fresh gas and a carb rebuild it fired right up......then stuck a valve from sitting for ever but no catastrophic damage....just a little noise and lesson learned. I just wanted to drive it!!

Nice GTX, what color is you vinyl top? my tops code is V4Y and Im wondering what it's color looks like and where to get it.

my gtx is code V1Y for full vinal top in gold . when i bought my top from legedary in 1990 they told me that this was the last of the NOS vinal they had in that color

I did not realize the top was so dark. I believe V1Y and V4Y are the same color, at least that is what it looks like when i decipher the build sheet. I like how you haven't put the exhaust tips on your GTX, I'm gonna try and stay true to the build sheet on this and mine also has just the turn downs. I like the passenger side chrome mirror and A/C that is one highly optioned GTX. Is your car GY8 Gold leaf metallic and GY4 gold interior also? And what sticker is that in the back window? is that the car of the year sticker?

I think you both might have two different color tops. Tell me does your build sheet code what kind of vinal top? I'm looking for the code to tell half full roof. I will try to find the color code in my White Books by Galen Govier and see if you might have a different shade.

It would be really cool to see both of these cars at a show together.

Nice car. The door panels you have were not available on a road runner. Photo attached of the door panels that are correct for your M6 interior.
A V_Y vinyl top should be the color of the second pic attached. While this is a survivor 72, it is the correct color for a 71 as well.
