Well, the fact that the tag calls for power brakes and the car has manual brakes could explain why the car was parked. If the manual brakes were swapped onto the car and the proportioning valve was not changed to the manual brake valve and/or the M/C was bad, that could explain why the brakes went bad and the car was parked.

It is crisp! Spins the tire with ease lol. More pics tonight!

Excellent! Now get some more of those pictures up ... love seeing your updates. I'm really glad you saved this car and it's working out for you. BTW use that earlier photo you up when you put the magnum wheels on it as an avatar of find something else but get an avatar man :)

Nice job on the seats. I recovered my Charger fronts this winter. Not a hard job just time consuming.

Thank you. Bench seats are a PITA. I did the same buckets as you for our Coronet and it was much more fun working with smaller material with less transitions/seams/etc. Yours turned out great!

That is a possibility. Looking at the rust on the hood, fender and cowl it seems like there was some kind of heat/fire damage but I can't find any evidence of that sort of thing under the dash or on the firewall. I have been trying to track down the original owner but as you all know it's getting harder and harder to do. I do have a nice original power brake booster and linkage but I kind of like manual brakes.

On another note we decided to go ahead and swap out the original 383 for a stock appearing 511 stroker. I really miss my sleeper four door four speed valiant and need to fill the void.

I miss my old 66 Coronet. But even 30 years ago in Wisconsin, mine was in worse shape than this one. Nice score and great job getting it back on the road.

Man I love that car. Only 500 pictures of the seat? Tell the cutie testing them hello.

I wanted you all to see how it was done...now you know for next time.

And that is why I moved out here to Oregon. I would cringe on a summer night when it hit the dew point lol

Nice job on the seats, there raelly is more yo it than just putting on the new covers. Where do you get the materials for the springs, foam etc?

I bought install kits from Legendary however I would not advise doing so. I have never heard of anyone using the install kit so I gave it a shot. They don't really have it sorted out too well. Too much of one material, not enough of anther, etc, etc. If you watch the Legendary installation video they do not weave wire through the burlap and we think that is a mistake. So anyway without going too far into it hit up a JoAnne fabric store for burlap, cotton sheet material, and foam. I found wire and hog rings at the local hillbilly store. The jute looking stuff that goes around the edge of the seat bottoms can be substituted with jute carpet backing from the local home improvement place.

Next up : Sealing up the inside of the roof, trunk floor, and a final cleaning before the interior goes back in this weekend. After that I think it will get driven for a while to work out the bugs.

Thanks to everyone for the encouragement!

My seats were so bad the wires in the burlap were gone. I doubled up on the burlap, hopefully that will keep the foam from getting cut up by the springs.

I'd love to find a car like that, in that shape. What a sweet ride. I love the look with the faded paint.

Love the exterior just the way it is! You're lucky to have a such a tolerant significant other, I redid all that stuff on the trunk of my car and in the driveway when I did it.
