Centerline vs Weld Wheels pros and cons

Running 11.75" disc brake rotors with Wilwood forged dynalites. Current 15x7 steel wheels fit fine.
Street use car with big block. Live in a city area with some roads that have bumps and the occasional pot hole.

Looking to get new Aluminum wheels for the car. Absolutely do not want Cragar SS, Magnum 500's or any of the Torque Thrust series because I see so many cars with them. They look pretty good, but I just want something different. Not too partial to Weld Draglites either, although they look good.

About a year ago before my paint and interior were done I settled on Centerline. Problem is, I'm having a heck of a time deciding which wheels to buy. One week I am leaning one way, then the next week I'm leaning the other. It's driving me crazy!

So out of the Centerline and Weld wheels shown below, what are the pros and cons of each? Am really hoping to hear from people running these wheels and their experiences. I've heard all of the wheels below are forged, but on reading some descriptions from Summit and Centerline, I'm wondering if "forged" actually only means the center sections and that the main wheel body is cast. I'm not sure.

Weld Prostars - Love the look of these wheels and would get them if I hadn't heard that you have to grind front disc calipers to fit and I hear they also have a loose inner ring thing that's kind of troublesome to mount on and off. Centerline Convo Pro - Love the look of these wheels when new. Have seen many that are older though that have faded and look terrible. The center section is as-machined and not polished. Lots of rivets makes tough to polish. Fit over disc brakes is supposed to be no problem. Load rating is over 1500-lb ea. Lugs are shank style with washer.ConvoProNEW15x6.jpg

Centerline Eliminator - Like the look of these wheels but have yet to see them on a car. Can't find any photos. Load rating is 1375-lbs ea. Not sure if they will fit over my front discs. Lugs are shank style with washer.Centerline_eliminator.jpg

Centerline Telstar - Have mixed feelings on these wheels. These are conical lug mount. Not sure if they'll fit over front discs. Load rating is the highest at 1625-lb ea. High polish finish. Have seen these on a member's car and some days I like the look, other days I don't.Telstar.JPG

Centerline Dicer Series Telstar II - These are a fairly new offering from Centerline. Finish is polished, but not high silver polish. It looks a bit off-silver color, with a darker metal look. The pattern looks very similar to Weld Prostars, but load rating is only 1125-lb ea. This is borderline for my car I think. Centerline_telstar2.jpg

Anyone with photos of a Telstar 2 or Centerline Eliminator on their car, please post photos!
 
Always a fan of Convo-Pro myself. Which of the wheels is lighter weight?
 
If you can swing them, Weld RTS's are hot and they are forged/light to boot but a bit more expensive. I run them in 17's with 295 DR's on my CTS-V Wagon for track duty.

Not sure of exact weights but I looked that up before and they are all pretty similar, but I think the convo pros are one of the lightest.

Spokes are pretty skinny and don't like the look, but thanks for the suggestion.
 
not on centerline's website, but while surfing Summit Racing, I came across a Convo version of the Telstar II, listed as style 871. The regular Telstar II is listed as style 771. With the convos it's got to be higher load rating than the non-convo rim of the same name, but the Summit listing has no details on this. If this checks out, I think we have a winner....so far, my email to Centerline has not been answered on this. I'll have to call them next week.

Load rating on the Convo Telstar II's is same as Convo Pro at 1525-lb. I ordered the 2 fronts.

I like that wheel, you chose, :iamwithstupid: should look good... on my RR I actually prefer a American Racing "Salt Flat Special" series look, if I was going to ever switch from Halibrand style Polished slots with kidney shaped holes like the old 60s drag stuff, mine are only 15's thou too...

i have a friend with weld prostars on his street driven impala, he was warned not to do it because they will crack on his heavy street car. Well, sure enough 2 of them have cracked so far and had to be replaced
