Meet my Daughter...This is her Story..

Rusty, that was a great story. Your daughter has more courage in her soul than anybody I've heard or read about. This also has to weigh heavily on you as well. As more members read this, tell Melissa that she will have a whole new fan base. I wish I could do more right now than just write this message. But please send your daughter my best wishes and prayers to her.

That's allot to have to go threw, especially for a young girl. Hopefully FBBO members can kick in some help to get her back to being self sufficient again. We've had two family members go threw chemo lately "had to be hard to watch" I feel for you and will say a prayer. You've got yourself a cute daughter and a real fighter "wish you the best".

Wow man ....my dad went through the exact same thing with the large cell lymphoma and a stem cell transplant ....I remember it all too well ....my dad beat it but the damage the chemo and everything else did to him cost him his life a few years later .......great read and great woman

Rusty, you must be incredibly proud of both your daughters. I hope Melissa achieves all the goals she sets for herself.

Proud of your whole family, especially her. I'm 19 years old, if I knew my life consisted of that for the next 10 years... I would give up. She is incredibly strong, and I hope one day she gets what she most desperately wants. Good luck to all of you Rusty.

She must be one of the strongest people alive. God bless and I'll pray for her.

A very moving story which I wish neither her or your family had to go through. But I wish you and most of all her the best and I will remember you all in my prayers.

This is a perspective changing read. Helps us to be aware of what is really important. God Bless her and hers.

You know you think you have problems until you hear or read about someone elses... and then you realize you only have a few inconveniences and how lucky you really are. Rusty you must be very very proud of your daughter she is a brave tough girl. I wish only the very best for her and you and your family.

WoW Rusty.

I am a very active "chiver" and have been aware of your daughter & her amazing story. But I have to say that reading it all again here on my favorite car site and hearing it from a proud father's point of view is overwelming!

I think you and your family have been dealt a rough hand but the little I know of you all is inspiring. You have a great attitude as does your girl.

Best wishes and prayers. I hope the chivers and the people on this board bring a lil happiness to you all!

I had a girlfriend with Hodgkins around 1992.

She looked a LOT like Leeza Gibbons (before she lost her hair).

I took her to several bone marrow drillings (ouch), and chemo.

She did beat it.

Your daughter sounds like she has the spirit and attitude to beat it.

That's one thing I've noticed about any cancer survivor I've ever known.

My thought and prayers are with her and with the rest of your family. I pray that she keeps strong and never gives up with her dream of walking again because with God all things are possible and i have witnessed first hand his miracles. I will continue to pray. Blessings and peace to your hole family.

Thank you for making us aware of your daughter's situation. She's definitely a fighter and, it seems, will never give up hope. My wife and I will keep good thoughts for her and give what we can.

WOW is all I can say....made my eyes water

Me too. Every time I read it.

Louis - You just made my eyes water...I've never heard of the Chive Charities until they flew into Annapolis MD 2 weeks ago and told her she will be the next recipient. I was a little skeptical at first (It comes from my fathers genetics LOL), however....I also feel like there was some Divine Intervention. Amazing group.. Between there $50k and the Chivers on GOFUNDME, she will get that a home of her own. I/m just glad to see that the good in this world far outweighs the bad, and my faith in humanity and mankind has been restored.
