very cool stuff, I love that part of history...
I wanted to be an astronaut when I was young,
they landed & walked on the moon 8 days after my 10th B-Day...

I remember sitting right in-front of the old blonde RCA TV/Stereo console
& watching every minute of the telecast of the landing & moon walks,
when normally if the news was on or it was nice out especially {like it always is in Calif. in July}
I'd be riding my bike, mini-bike, go-cart, playing ball or something/anything other than watching news...LOL...

True patriots & hero's, going out into the unknown, brave soles...

It was a very impressionable time of my life...

We were world leaders, especially in the world of science & technology,
we had a strong military & great space program,

I agree 110% we need to get back to that...

Thanks for sharing Pops

I remember watching it as a kid...

I thought the Queen Mary used a lot of fuel at 13 feet per gallon. The first stage of the Saturn V rocket used for the Apollo missions got under 5 inches per gallon on takeoff. 95% of the rocket's weight was fuel and oxidizer.

God Bless the USA and the people who had the guts, skill and ability to do this.

I still think it was "staged"

The moon dust would have made a huge cloud and the lander would have been well below the surface before to landed on something solid... it would had to have be staged. Our space program was well behind the Russians and the moon landing brought us to the front.... NASA needed the publicity and science didn't deliver.

Sure...the world isn't round either, it's flat, and dragons live at the edges.

How many moon landings were there.... One. And if it was reported that it failed? If it were possible the Russians would have been there first. There German scientists were better than ours.

someone's off their meds again

And you would know all about the moon dust ? LOL !! Were you there first to test the moon dust ? LOL ! Ron

Your thinking Angeles dust... that's different and I don't sell it anymore... so don't ask...

Go back to school.... there were more than one!!!

Yep, there were six landings: Apollo 11, 12, 14, 15, 16 and 17 each with two men on the moon and one in the orbiter.

From Widipedia:

Many conspiracy theorists insist that the Apollo Moon landings were a hoax;[42] however, empirical evidence is readily available to show that manned moon landings did indeed occur. Anyone on Earth with an appropriate laser and telescope system can bounce laser beams off three retroreflector arrays left on the Moon by Apollo 11,[43] 14 and 15, verifying deployment of the Lunar Laser Ranging Experiment at historically documented Apollo Moon landing sites and so proving equipment constructed on Earth was successfully transported to the surface of the Moon. In addition, in August 2009 NASA's Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter began to send back high resolution photos of the Apollo landing sites. These photos show not only the large Descent Stages of the lunar landers left behind but also tracks of the astronauts' walking paths in the lunar dust.[44]

Nope, von Braun and his staff surrendered to the Americans, not Russians, and were cleared of all war crimes.

Unfortunately education has taken a back seat to most everything else.

Thanks. It's an insult to all the brave astronauts, some who lost their lives, to disclaim their monumental achievements. I, as many, followed the space program from the Mercury through the Apollo programs. And this thread once again proves that a love of Mopars doesn't prevent one from being an ignoramus.
