Cool. I just added to my family. Anymore kids and my bench seat satellite won't be big enough. Might have to look at a wagon myself !

You know, given the price of new cars these days, you can find yourself a decent wagon and redo it for probably half the cost of a new one.

This thing has so much character, we get thumbs up and complements everywhere we go and the kids love riding in it. expensive on gas, but oh well... that's why we have throw away econoboxes :D :upside down:

Then it's time to start planning an OD automatic. That is a really nice wagon.

People spent the last 40 years striping motors it of these wagons and 4 door cars and now it's starting to go the other way... it's a blessing the drag racing is winding down for these rare cars....

Looks cushy for vinyl.

I think I could sleep in the back.

Rallye dash- cool.

Yeah, she was the high end model back in the day. I have the window sticker and invoice and it shows just over $5k. That's a pretty penny for 1972.

Factory air but they opted to stick with the base AM radio. Lucky for me no one molested the rallye dash to upgrade the radio in the last 42 years.

...and a trailer hitch.

I'd love to see how that mounts.

Does the car have a 66/67 style gas tank and spare tire (/3rd seat foot) well. Looks like it might.

the trailer hitch mounted to the under side of the bumper and third row floor pan. I took it out.

The gas tank is behind the rear left wheel well but I don't know how the 66/67 style was. the spare tire is on the opposite side and has all the gear so we cleaned it up and put it back.

I'll take pics when we finally get the 3rd. row seat removed and cleaned.

ralley dash and 150mph speedo! cool.

yeah, it's a cool dash for sure! lucky for me it's unmolested and I was able to open it up far enough to get all the bulbs replaced. The only thing non-functional is the clock. it's a big hassle to get it out so I just left it.

very cool! I did not know that the wagons used the same dash as roadrunners/chargers, you even a a clock! sweet!

I was surprised too. But I think they put it only in the Regent. I have seen the regular dash in the custom.

I wish i could get the clock to work.

Looks awesome!

Thanks!

There are clock rebuilders online, but pricey.

Just as cost effective to replace it with a repro tach.

+- $300 either way.

I'd love a tach. but 1. costly, and 2. a big pain to pull the cluster completely out.

Those tailpipes should exit to the sides if you plan on driving it with the tailgate glass down the exhaust can come back in going down the road .

That is such a nice car, so many wagons now gone, but that's a keeper!

You are absolutely right! we can't drive with the rear glass down. Unfortunately, at the time we made the decision we were more into the "cool factor" :)

It's not a big deal for us right now as we only use the wagon for cruise ins, car shows and the occasional Home Depot tun to bring home something big. If it ever becomes a big issue, I'm pretty sure it won't cost too much to move them to the sides.

the flow masters do sound very cool.

Thanks, we were considering selling it as we didn't have much room in the driveway and too many other projects... but we got a lot done on it this summer and we sold one vehicle so we will probably hold on to it for bit longer.

Wow, great job cleaning it up!!

Looks very cool.

Thanks, we got the 3rd row seat finally removed and cleaned up all the floor in the back. I had ordered a new replacement carpet for it over a year ago and we finally got it installed.

Nice wagon. Even like the butterscotch color. Your well on your way to having a real sleeper. Any plans for the engine???

Interesting.

I wasn't aware there was supposed to be anything covering the "tire well".

I thought 3rd seat passengers used that for their feet.
