I am probably going to jinx this but I am just happy to have gotten this far. It's been six years since I have driven this car without incidence. I just drove it 17 miles to work without smoke, steam, oil leaks, water leaks, ping, knock, slip, squeal, shudder, cracks, etc.
Whew!
This is my next drag car and I just want to drive it around while I sort out the bugs (before going with the big block). Well, it has been a lot of misfortunes, from broken windshields to cracked oil pumps. Mama Mia!
Granted, I still have to make it home but I'll take it as a win. Still have to fix the dash (gauges inop, erratic speedo), sorely needs an alignment, interior is shabby, needs paint and body work, etc
Good Times...Good Times...

Looks like a grate car !! would love to see more pics !!

I've driven mine 4" so far and everything went just peachy. Yes - that's right 4". Still a ways to go with everything but the motor is moving it..........:upside down:

If it's of any consequence, My 65 Sport Fury hasn't moved an inch in the past 6 years. One day, I'll finish that dang blower motor.....
sigh...

Update.....
Ran into a few bugs...dangit. I think it is finally ready for some serious road time. Let's see, after two stuck valves, (one keeps returning to the tune of 11 bent pushrods), goofy distributor, stuck thermostat, gunked up carb, and miscellaneous leaks and broke wires. I think I finally have this dang slant six running right. I just drove the dang thing 25 miles without incident. I think I might try the 100 mile round trip to work tomorrow. What's the worst that can happen?
