2014 4th Annual FABO NHRA "Pick 'Em" Game - Make Your Picks and Light 'Em Up!

I see my strategy is working to perfection. Sneak my way down to the bottom and lull everyone into a false sense of security. Then, BAM! Shoot back to the top during the countdown races. Yeah...that's it...that's what I'm doing. I don't REALLY suck - I'm just super sneaky.

LOL - I finally can't get any worse because I've completely bottomed out. Good luck to the rest of you guys, though!

IIRC 3 guys dropped out so you were only 4th from last...

64Bel hang in there it's for fun anyway,
hell I went down 5 spots last week with my picks too...

I made up 151.5 points on the leader this week! time to start thinking about my picks.

Ah, Bud - you glass half-full guy!:icon_thumleft:

As long as we're having fun together, I'm good.:happy2:

Bel your right it's fun win or loose but winning helps alittle. I could hit rock bottom next race , who knows ? But at least I've met some great guys along the way. Oh I hope I'm not sounding too corny.

It was nice to finally be able to watch a race in the middle of the day. Lately, they have been on too late at night for me to even start to watch. Sometimes starting as late as 11 pm. Hopefully the important sports to ESPN like little league, tennis ,volleyball, girls softball, are winding down and will put the Drag racing back on at a reasonable time.

I like it when the race is on at about 8:00 pm. Too much stuff to do during the day to sit in the house and watch TV. No, I don't have a DVR and never will.

:iamwithstupid: at-least we get them 3 hrs earlier than you guys back east...
if only NHRA got any respect, ESPN2 sucks, always preempting drag racing,
"I get no respect" Rodney Dangerfield quote inserted here...
With all the stick & ball sports, soccer, track & field, even lame obscure women's sports {softball especially}, poker, tennis,
cheerleaders & even some children's sports, all out rank the NHRA or any Drag racing it seems, in TV time...

we need a true dedicated racecar/automotive racing channel, with no stick & ball &/or chick sports...

I still love/live for Football, especially NCAA, but I hate anything preempting drag racing...

I just read that NHRA announced a change to the qualifying schedule for the Carolina Nationals. Pro qualifying is now scheduled to start at 12:45PM EDT (9:45AM PDT) on Friday, September 12.

As always, your picks need to be posted before Pro Qualifying starts on Friday, September 12, in order to qualify for all event bonus points. The Carolina Nationals entry list is posted on NHRA.com and currently shows 19 Top Fuel, 17 Funny Car, 17 Pro Stock and 16 Pro Stock Motorcycle entries, but the counts are subject to change. Keep checking http://www.nhra.com/events/entrylist19.aspx for an updated entry list.
Pro Stock Motorcycle will race at all remaining events of the 2014 NHRA season.

Get your picks posted and GOOD LUCK!

My Charlotte picks, 1st round of the championship countdown,
I'm going with
T/F Antron Brown {2nd in points} I hope he doesn't go out 1st round again or qualify like crap #16 again
F/C John Force {1st in points} he's on a roll, I think he's trying to prove a point & show Castrol & Ford...
P/S Jeg Coughlin {4th in points} he's way overdue for a win
P/SM Matt Smith {6th in points} hope that doesn't bite me, I just have a feeling he's going to do well, home country...
BUT I should probably go with a Harley like A.Hines or E.Krawiec, because they have all the rules advantages...

I wish they'd show Pro-Mod

good luck to everyone

The current weather forecast is for Friday high temps in the low 80s and a 40% chance of thunderstorms. Saturday is supposed to be 75F with a 40% chance of showers and Sunday should be in the low 70s with a 20% chance of showers. Again, let's hope we get this event in without any weather delays.

Get your picks posted EARLY, especially if you might forget at the last minute, and GOOD LUCK!

For those of you who enjoy watching the Pro qualifying coverage on ESPN2, it's going to be late-night hours for rest of the 2014 NHRA season.

The Carolina Nationals qualifying will be shown on ESPN2 at:
Friday Qualifying: Friday (09/12), 11:00PM-midnight EDT (8:00-9:00PM PDT)
Saturday Qualifying: Sunday (09/14), 2:00AM-3:30AM EDT (Saturday, 11:00PM-12:30AM Sunday PDT)

Another (and better) alternative for Friday qualifying is ESPN3 on your computer, or other device. Check out http://espn.go.com/watchespn/index/_/channel/espn3 for LIVE Q2 coverage without commercials at 3:00PM EDT (Noon PDT). The LIVE coverage will last until Q2 is complete. The announcers are the same as on TV but much more relaxed with a lot of joking they just can't do on the television coverage.
