has anyone used the rev-n-nator or the FBO igniton box
any input of either one

I have the rev-n nator box in now. Motor seems a little crisper than the MP orange box.
Didn't notice any big change in hp but the fact you can't overrev is a plus.

Running the Rev-n-nator and love it!!! The rev limiter is an awesome safety function!!! Only good things to say about the Rev-n-nator and like the almost stock appearance.

I have the FBO box and haven't had any issues. Same as the Rev-n-nator that is has a build in rev limiter

Did any of you guys switch over to either one of these brands because of any hard starting issues when the orange box got hot? I switched my 69 over to electronic ign. early summer and If i drive it then turn it off it will not start until it cools off? Yes I have that orange box and have heard nothing but negative things about it.

*Sorry doug428 not trying to railroad but looking into changing my box out as well. Thanks!

Before the Rev-n-nator I too switched to the orange box first. Never had any issues with starting and stopping and restarting. I had some intermittent electrical/ignition issues and decided to try the Rev-n-nator. Everything's been great since switching.

If the box is getting hot, might it be a ballast resistor issue?

In my case I can't speak to the Rev'n'Ator, but I am running the FBO box in my 493 stroker. I have nothing but good to say about IT either. It sits in there, there car starts, the car runs, the rev limiter works! I like that I can call Don at FBO and ask him about issues I am having with various things. He's very helpful. I often call to ask a question about which this or that I should buy. If he has what I need I buy it from him, but just as often he doesn't but will direct you to who does. That's how I got my transmission!

Running the Rev-N-Nator here also - best mod I ever made to the car, and the truck :headbang:

I have had a FBO box in my car for about 6 years now.
Zero issues, has always performed excellent, equal or better (leaning towards better) than the Chrysler Chrome box.

I had the chrome box before the FBO unit but I can't fairly assess the chrome box as my whole system was overhauled at the same time.

I got a rev n Nator on my road runner and love it.. Plus absolutely awesome customer service.

thanks for replies

I get a 10% Mancini discount every other month and might give it a try.
I have the orange now and works fine but I keep hearing from mopar guys at the car shows "better carry a spare"

I had a cheap aftermarket ignition coil fail. Replaced it with a readily available MSD Blaster 2 coil which worked, but according to 2 independent sources, one being a MSD dealer, the MSD coil is high current draw and would eventually burn out the orange Mopar ECU. I was considering MSD system w/Digital 6AL box, but Don at FBO and some other Mopar folks who I asked, AND my budget convinced me to get a FBO system. Custom curved adjustable vacuum distributor, Petronix Flamethrower coil, FBO box with a great rev limiter. Works great and I am using the vacuum advance for the first time too.

Works great and I am using the vacuum advance for the first time too.

With the Rev-N-Nator unit, the use of the vacuum advance is not required. The super clever internal electronics handles the curve requirements.
