I've said it a hundred times on here and I'll say it again "I LOVE 67 B Bodies"! Those cars just have some of the best lines of any car out there, love it. So what's the plan? Keep us posted

IMG_0839.jpgIMG_0838.jpgIMG_0837.jpgIMG_0835.jpgIMG_0834.jpgView attachment 226104The plan is to gather the parts for mods that I want over the winter while i'm blasting and sanding so I can get it primed and painted in the early summer. I hope to be driving it by the fall. The rub is that i'm going through medical permanent disability retirement from the Army and the VA disability treadmill, plus social stupity, etc. so my finances are not optimal just now. Trying to trade for stuff. Hanging in there and working it a little at a time,.gotta pull the gas tank and some lines then I can blast away. I agree, the 67's are really sweet looking in the smooth lines and proportions. Proud to own it.

What V.A. disability treadmill they have you on?

Looks like a nice straight body to start with!
good luck with the disability I was accepted a few years ago and took 3 months, I was lucky it was so quick.
While working I had the money to work on my Mopar's but no time. now have the time and a lot less $$.
while gathering you parts if you run across the fender emblem for a '66 I am looking for the "Coronet" and "V8" call out.

Va/dod

You know, the whole IDES combined system. I was awarded 90% service connected/ combat related disability after 18 months of waiting without a paycheck. They have me waiting now for the "Unemployability" claim to be processed that they advised me to put in since I am unemployable. If granted it will put me at 100% disabled for life. Means a big boost in money and access to some programs that would be helpful. Also right now i'm waiting for the DOD to finish my permanent medical disability service retirement. They awarded me 50% on the DOD side and I'm getting a phone call any minute this morning from my PEBLO in Texas about signing it and returning it for processing. She is going to tell me of all of the ramifications of what path I choose to take with it. It's a complicated system. And, after all of that I still have wait while the Army retirement office puts in a claim for CRSC, ( combat related special compensation) that if granted will mean a significant monthly income added to the rest. Soo, we shall see. While I abhor the masses who are sucking on the federal tit just because they can, I also feel that for as long as I have served, and as much as I have endured for my country, that they ought to take care of me since I am unable to fend for myself in the workplace due to combat related injuries and illnesses. I have literally been in the service since 1975, on and off for a total of 29 years. It's all I ever wanted to be, or do.

i'll keep my eyes peeled for ya Rodney.

It took me 3 years to get IU, and that was with a 90% scheduler rating also. My CRSC is only 60 bucks a month, but I only had 2 yos, so yours should be more, but be mindful of the "glitch", which means you might get squat compared to your yos.

The car is looking good and if I can help out in anyway, just let me know, one Vet to another!!

Okay, come over and finish it for me. LOL. No, really, I appreciate that, very much. I've always been one to do everything myself, I seldom ask for help. Now I have to ask often and it's a mental/emotional struggle each time. Oh well, it could be worse. I have not been in the garage for a week or so, i'm remodeling my wife's quilt room. Slowly of course, it takes three times as long to do anything than it used to. Once she is home I will get back out there.

strangely enough there seems to be only one V8 callout on my car, on the drivers side. Don't have one on the right.
. Weird? is that normal?

I too am a vet and want to Thank You for your service contribution. It should NOT be so difficult to be awarded your due. After all, YOU did not hesitate to do your "work". Why is it that they can???
Any way, I have a 66 Coronet and have the badges on both sides.
If I come across any, I will PM you to make the arrangements to get them to you.
ALL the best in your endeavors.

thanks, I was looking for the badges for Rodney. I don't need any. He has a 66 and he needs them. I have only one.Thank you for your service brother.

I finally completed my wife's quilt room redo and can get back to the MOPAR. Time to start cutting sh*t up.

Thanks for the "V8" call out! I'll be looking for it I didn't realize you had posted the image here I just got the notification this AM.
my 66 had the emblems on both fenders from the holes in the fenders. the Pentastar is only on the lower right fender.
I have the "Coronet" on the way from Washington so got the other one covered.

As soon as I'm done with my bee, this is what I have to work on next. I love the 66-67 coronets! Keep up the great work!

Cool, I mailed it out this morning man. Peace.

Thanks Rebel, I have been watching the videos of the "Sliced Charger and the Nelson Engineering 2000HP wide body 68 Charger and the May/Hem charger. I am looking at my Coronet with new eyes. I've spent most of today walking around it and sitting on a stool in different spots around the body and just letting my brain come up with what if's. I have some ideas on paper. We shall see what transpires. lol.

Great looking car, and looks like you have a nice one to work on with relatively minor issues (they ALL have issues...)

Best of luck with your plans!

Thanks! Yes it does only have a few minor issues. There is very little serious rust, only the front half of the passenger floor pan. There is a dent filled with BONDO on the right top cowl corner but that's all. the rest is surface stuff. The usual areas seem to be ok. I hope to get out there and cut the floor pan loose this week. I have a sheet of 18 gauge in the garage and will fab up a piece to put back. Or, I intend to cut the spare tire well out and flatten the trunk floor, might reuse that piece for the more structural floor and fab a chunk to go in the trunk. Hmmm that rhymes.

Got some done today:IMG_0142.jpgIMG_0135.jpgIMG_0145.jpgIMG_0136.jpgIMG_0133.jpgIMG_0140.jpgIMG_0134.jpgI had said that I wanted to flatten out the trunk floor and decided to reuse the tub bottom so I would still have a spare tire hold down bracket to use. Got some more pounding to do and trimming, then weld 'er up!

update

This weekend I was able to get out into the garage and I spent some time fitting a fuel cell up under the rear package tray and doing some spot welding on the trunk floor. I also decided to begin the project of shaving the gas tank filler door. I first had to remove the neck and the shroud around the neck before cutting a piece of the old trunk floor metal to fit the hole. I ground down to metal and tacked it in place. So far so good...
