I have a turn signal lever that the chrome is bad on. Is there a "do it yourself" method to get all that chrome off so it can be painted? Thanks for any input....................MO
Zactly!!!, but still don't know how to get that crappy chrome off.........................MOhttp://www.hiltopautoparts.com/product/nos-mopar-turn-signal-lever-most-1962-thru-1964-models/
I think I would stick to painting as well.
Thank you, that was the info I was looking for. I know chrome platers use reverse electrolisis, but that is more pricey than the lever is worth. I will try out your method...................MOI am currently set-up with "Black diamond"...more commonly called Aluminum Oxide..(i think)
It is nasty stuff...
I think the best method is a chem strip...
Chemical reaction compound...
By using Muritic Acid (Hydrochloric Acid) with water...
A 30% mixture..
1/3 to Muritic acid to 1 part water
Soak it or dab it on for a period of time..
Wash and rinse with soap and water...
