Looks an awful lot like a Pantera except for the rounded quarter window.

I actually have seen this car and met the owner . I'll try and give the history on the car the best I can remember . There were 4 of these cars built in Italy but the one in the pic is the only production prototype ( has A/C ) . The owner has photos of the cars being tested at LeMan and I was told one was destroyed . The motor is a mid engine 360 or 361 and somehow it was rumored Nascar was involved in the motor , who know's . idrivemopar said it looks like a Pantera , funny I said the same thing and was corrected the Pantera looks like the AMC because it was designed before the Pantera . I believe there is one other here in the states . The project was shelved after AMC went through a lengthy strike in the early 70's and had to shelve some projects . This car did bring about the Pantera and I was told that GM developed 2 mid engine Corvette's in response to this . How much of this is true I'm not sure but it was interesting to see the photo's and hear about the car .

they made a few for shows etc. prototype & concepts
1969 & 70 IIRC AMX-2 & AMX-3
little different designs on both

Always interesting to see or wonder how some prototypes influence the design of other cars. Yep, I stated it backwards about the Pantera, but still an interesting car.

Something else that was cool to see was the signatures of the craftsmen on the back side of some of interior panels . I had a good time just listening to the story's the owner had to tell about the car . I was originally going to reupholster the car but the owner picked up the interior piece's and said Jay Leno was sending an agent to look at the car and he was hoping to sell . Come on Jay add it to the collection

Well, it didn't sell. At $235,899.00 and over 90 bids, the reserve wasn't met.
