1964 Plymouth Belvedere Project.

Today I'll get some classic rock tuned in, all the paper comes off and the poly paint booth gets reduced to half it's size. I still need it functional because I have steering components and the Dana to refinish, as well as the steering column and dash.

Masking paper came off today and back to it's usual position. A good look at it now, not my best work but it looks pretty good overall. Certainly a nice place to be in the project now where everything a guy does is noticable.

Now that the body has been painted I've spent the last few days on the suspension components for the 64.

6 cylinder torsion bars, newer style K-frame, calvert split mono leafs, cal tracs will all be helping the Belvedere get down to business.

Tomorrow I'll tackle the dash and interior trim pieces and once that's done the poly paint booth will be coming down.

And time for some cut & polishing on the body. Won't be too much longer and this old Plymouth is going to start going together.

Well I didn't get too far on the dash today. I just kept finding other parts that still needed to be gone through so that was today's task. Tomorrow is definitely going to be dash day!

The dash, strg column and interior trim pieces are now completed, including a nice coat of mat clear on the top of the dash. The poly booth has been taken down and tomorrow it's time to sand and polish the body. Only days away from when the pieces can all start going on!

Getting close to completing the sanding and compounding on the Plymouth. Hood and deck lid left to do then I'll be switching over to polishing mode. I don't know if it's me but this sure is a time consuming job!

Deck lid and hood is now sanded and polished and both turned out nice.
Tomorrow the Plymouth goes back up on the hoist and assembly time begins!

All those pieces are starting to find their way onto the Plymouth. This past couple of days parts went onto the front and rear suspension as well as a few trim pieces.

My pitman arm seal showed up this afternoon so tomorrow I will install the disc brakes on the rear and get that seal into the box.

The dana went into place the other day under the Belvedere. Funny I don't remember them being so damn heavy..

Once the Dana was in place I installed a Disc Brake Kit from Right Stuff. The dana already had green bearings so the kit went into place as smoothly as it possibly could have. Even the E brake cables fit perfectly.

Once the brakes were completed and after lots of thought the Mallory filter and pump ended up and ahead of the dana. No chance of contact with the dana. As far as tailpipes, that's not gonna happen.

Moving to the front and starting on the brake system. The Willwood master cylinder, adjustable brake valve and line lock are in place and lines to follow. Yes, line lock in the rear brake line.

Moving right along! Damn it's going to be an awesome ride. Those are some nice parts going into it. Keep the pics coming, I'm enjoying seeing the final assembly coming together.

Things keep going together on the 64. Fuel line, brake system and lines, power cable are all done and lots of other parts are all finding their place.

Thanks Ron! Yes the 64 is coming along pretty good. Once my parts order arrives I'll be able to finish up a couple of things underneath. Then it can come off the hoist and the wedge can go into place. The entire job is being done solo here at home and it's been a great time!
The old Camaro has been around for almost 20 years now. I suspect that the fastest car in the garage title may be heading over to the 64 once it's done though..

Thanks Rick! The bar stools are just over from the beer fridge! lol. And many great discussions and problem solving sessions have taken place on those stools too!

Man that car is stunning but I have to ask "how in the hell do you keep a garage so clean"? My garage looks like a pack of grease pigs got set loose in it and there's crap everywhere (guess I need to clean mine). Excellent work Malex

LOL 747. Once I'm done the job at hand I put things away before I start on the next thing. It's just habit now. Thanks for the compliment on the 64, it's starting to all come together nicely.
Stretching the wheel openings gave me the clearance in front of the 315 tire that was needed.
