I know from the vin its a 440-6 pack hardtop car, and from the car itself its a 4speed hemi orange, it has a ramcharger and a dana 60, but that stuff could have been changed, the original paint was with out a doubt hemi orange and it was a 4spd, may soon be an auto though, on the fence about that one...

I am doing a total resto so I if there are some options in there I dont know about I will add them back to the car. Judging by the amount of codes on there it wasnt that well optioned that is for sure, my fathers charger doesn't have room for another letter on his fender tag...

thanks if anyone knows what they mean let me know...

Awesome, thank you Seax440. very impressive, everything looks correct, woodgrain console? was there any other one available for 70??? My console tops had no woodgrain, they are the ribbed style??? But may not have been original....

What...... Myself i would not be changing a 4 speed to an auto. Not just any car but a real six pack car.

Anyone else feel the same way.. Just my 2 and 3 cents worth.

I am on the fence, I would keep my 4 speed and all the components, but I want my son to be able to drive this car too, I have all the parts to go auto (rebuilt 727, complete console, shifter, column, driveshaft, cooler, lines, etc}. It is going to depend on how well he learns to drive a stick, he has been practicing and it is comeing to him, but a 16 year old driving a $60K+ car with a stick makes me a bit nervous, I am thinking paying more attention to the road will be easy with out shifting..

There is no way I would convert that car to auto. Just my opinion though.

To change that car to an auto would be shame for sure! They made very few of those cars and even fewer with 4 speeds

My brother let his son drive his 1970 Buick GS, 455 4sp. to school one day and he decided to drag race another boy in a Mustang after school. Well he ended up flipping the car and totalled it. He is a very responsible young man, luckily he was ok. Just way too much car for someone his age...JMHO

Would love to see some pics of your car!

Cool. Are you adopting?

If you seriously want an automatic, please find another car. You have an incredibly desirable car. In today's world, it's almost ludicrous to want to change a 440-6bbl four speed car to an automatic.

Shes in boxes right now, lol...

I have other projects waiting and my son WANTED the super bee done, couldn't live with out it even if it kills me and we have to eat ramen noodles for a decade.

I have a 70 chevelle ss {real big block car} I did all the metal work, its sitting in primer with a PERFECT body, I have the driveline built {#'s matching big block, 4spd, and rr end all rebuilt...}, just need to do the suspension, tires, brakes, interior, etc etc etc etc, it sounds like I am almost done until I start listing what I need, lol... I also have a 39 ford hot rod {tudor}, lowered, shaved, all steel, nice car, that runs and drives but I bought a new 200r4 tranny, ram jet fuel injected 350 crate engine, explorer rear end, new wheels and tires, new plastic gas tank and walbro fuel pump with all the fuel lines, new wire harness, aluminum radiator with ac built in, a/c kit, new billet column, and a new steering wheel.. The car was done perfect, beautiful body and paint, gorgeous interior BUT 305 small block with a 2 spd power glide, no a/c, old spoke wheels, astro van steering column, lol.. TO make it a nice car it needs a/c, disc rear brakes {has fronts, real nice mustang 2 front end}, fuel injection, and nice wiring...

My plan was to do the hotrod first since I can get all of that stuff done in 3 months, then the chevelle since I am probably going to just store that car and it will take me about a year to do, then I figured by that time I would accumulate enough parts to start the super bee, BUT listening to him whine isnt worth it, and seeing him sitting in it and making "vroom vroom" noises breaks my heart...

So, the car isnt much to look at right now, just a SUPER strong body and I have the best set of fenders, ram charger hood, deck lid, and doors I ever seen- I am talking time machine stuff!!!

In my storage area I have 98% of the parts, I have it on the lift and pulled the front end out, I have everything sand blasted, and I am ready to jamb the front engine bay, I have all the disc brake parts {pirate jack}, all the suspension parts {monroe and moog}, and that is going to be the first order, to get the K frame coated and back in with all the new parts, then I will move to the rear end, strip that, the Dana is all rebuilt and ready to go, I just got a set of mopar springs, and should have lal the bushings on there way. While I am back there I will do the tank, brake lines, fuel lines, and exhaust, then hopefully my engine is back from the machine shop and I can throw that in, then the rest of the driveline in. Mean while I am rebuilding the dash, console, heater box, column, seats, front bumper {just bought a set of grilles off a forum member, thank you Rod}... I am thinking the entire project will take us 1.5 years, done and painted, sadly probably going to have mid 30's invested, but I will be doing it with my son, so maybe he will be ready to do the next couple on his own.

I am going to keep my cars until I die and that is going to be my kids inheritance, tax free since they will be in his name from jump street, plus I get to spend time with them while I do it and maybe teach them how to use the tools I have accumulated over the years.

Its a pretty solid plan, plus my wife doesnt say too much when I spend money on cars and guns, I just say "its for the boys" {but I get to play with them now}...

anyway heres a pic, and you guys talked me into it I am going to keep it a stick...
