my first thought was something was amiss (and not something like they ran of with everyone's motors and money) Glad my instincts were right! Go Kim!

Good on you Kim for stepping up and letting everybody know you're still there and on top of it! :headbang:

Hey, life gets in the way and ya gotta deal with it!

Lord knows you don't need any more work; but if I need my wiper motor done, Im comin' to you!! lol

I guess if you don't live in FL you don't always know the crap we deal with with humidity, rain, lightning strikes from hell lately and how the process works on work getting done here. I will not stand in a metal building leaning on a blast cabinet playing lightning rod, much as I love this work, I'd like to continue to do it LOL I'm not computer savvy so when I lose one to lightning I'm like a deer in the headlights...what do I do now?? Go buy a different computer but you've lost all your info, notes, photos, core checkin photos, you're absolutely lost, get the sucker set up finally (with one hair left because I hate having to do that and who remembers their passwords?), to lose the new one in less than two weeks and there you are standing like a deer in the headlights again...most of the work done before you get to stand at a bench and build is done in no AC, out in metal buildings and sometimes it's that crap that gets you so far behind you wake up and want to slit your wrists because you can't make any headway.

Email. I've found that's about the best form of communication when you think I've fallen off the face of the earth and run off with everyone's hard earned cash, yeah right LOL Most of you know if you call me, send your motor, I don't ask for payment until the work is done. If someone paid and sent their core they did it through the website because I can't seem to turn payments off on the website. When Jules passed I saw how difficult it was for people to get their funds returned through an estate, I got alot of the work and had to charge when they'd already paid someone else and to have someone's funds AND their motor seems like an unfair advantage.

Gotta get back to it we have 4-6" forecasted for today, wanted to try to put things straight, I'm dancing with the chaos. Oh and Jerry is my partner in this passion. We've split the businesses up now, he does everything under the hood and I do the motors, we refer work back and forth and where am I when I'm doing my grunt work/core prep so I can bring it back here to build? His shop :)

seventy, third degree/theft?, TN number and Florida business? I was in TN when I had to return to FL to take care of a mother who's ill, don't want to be here, hate it here, too hot to work without falling out on any given day, but I don't wish I was back in TN any day because we know what that would mean...my mother is no longer with us. It's not to be flighty, hard to find, scammish, etc., it's because it was my number for years and I brought it here when I had to return and when I head back to TN, it'll still be the same number. Sorry for it looking so iffy. Jerrys number is a cell number here in FL, my cell number is a FL number, but I don't pass it around

Funny thing is:
I think the Naples area up to Bradenton Florida is perhaps hit by lightening more than any other place in America!

Yup, Florida definitely gets hit by lightening, quite often.

Tell me about it

We've had 52" and you're real close behind us and this didn't start until like mid summer, first part we were dryer than a popcorn fart...

Sounds like a great person to do business with. I know where to go if I'm ever in need. Good luck with the weather and the computers. Make sure you look into some form of backup for the computer, it'll save you a lot of headaches.

and a surge suppressor...

You mean like this APC XS 1000 Battery back up that got hit in the mess too? On a good note, APC did replace the battery unit for me, just not all the components that took a hit while plugged into it LOL

Ouch, so battery backup then heavy duty surge suppressor then plug in the components. [emoji5]️

If the computers and computer information is important, and what isn't these days, a good UPS will solve your electrical problems. They are not cheap, good ones anyway.
They will take care of your surges and keep the computer from going down in storms thus saving valuable info on the drive.
Something like: http://www.staples.com/APC-BR500CI-...CFZCRHwodURUPww&kpid=IM1DE4999&akamai-feo=off

You go girl - just keep people informed. That's want they want.

Kim, If you have a Gmail account you can back up your important information to google drive. They give you 15GB for free and you can access it from anywhere, share files etc. As far as your power woes, definitely use a UPS and also a power conditioner. Basically it is an isolating transformer with some filtering in it. Put the power conditioner in line first then the UPS. You should have no more problems after that.
BTW, I have two 3 speed wiper motors to send you for restoration when the exchange rate improves a bit lol.

I can vouch for the weather being weird and stormy here in FL. I think we've had two sunny days in the past two months down here in Jacksonville. On the plus side, I haven't had pay to fill my pool since mid-June! :)

I have heard that none of those "suppressors" help against a direct hit. If you live in a rural or remote area, you will get hit more often. Reason being, lightning can strike a utility pole blocks away and might not find ground until it reaches your house. My in-laws have been hit several times. The power company provided them a protective system at their meter can. I think they pay a monthly fee for it.

Guys Kim's motor's are worth the wait....... trust BIGS on this .........

Kim's working her arse off trying to get this mess caught up. I got caught flat footed by trusting someone to help out and helped me right into a corner, but I'm digging out. It rained the better part of the day today but I was able to prep and shelve enough components for 10 motors with more core break down happening tomorrow and soaking and blasting, and I'll be up all night building....Jason yours is on the bench as I speak and I have three others I want done before I call it a night tonight, that'll make six out of here today all by myself LOL
