My list of members here I've spoken to on the phone or met has expanded today. I received a call from TekHouse who is visiting NYC. I real nice guy and we had a great conversation. Nothing beats meeting a guy from the forum in person, but at least hearing someones voice helps as much is lost over a keyboard.

Its funny how when you talk to a guy in person things change. On the forums a guy prints something someone doesn't like and people are up in arms and the attacks start. When i stop to think about it,if we acted this way with people we actually associate with be it family, friends or co workers we'd have no friends at all. Say what you will the guy is a gentleman during our conversation. I suspect most of you are to.

Nah...

lol....

I always say that, guys on the forum just say what ever comes to their mind, there is no instant accountibility like when in person, if you tell me in person to go get my faced fucked, I'm gonna rabbit punch your jaw to the other side of your head, or head butt your nose to the back of it, but I promise something would happen, So it doesn't happen often, but online, it happens all the time...

I knew a gentleman from an audio equipment site, big mouthed asshole like they write about... Had plenty of online words to say about me, well one day we met at a hi fi seminar/show and he was polite as pie and sucked up to me all night. I told him online he didnt talk like a normal 6'1" 210 lb guy he talked like a 7' tall 400 lb bad ***. He laughed and apologized for anything he said and explained how it was a way to get rid of stress, blah blah blah... I just laughed, when we left my wife said that it wasn't nice of me to bring that up, I made sure that when he initially shook my hand he felt a working mans hand shake, some people need to realize its a small world, and some guys don't give a **** and some day you may have to answer for your actions. Guy like me that even though i have a lot to lose, I also have a great attorney and know that if I slap the **** out of someone, its at worse case a night in a local jail cell, if not sitting on the bench outside the cell, and at worse a simple assault charge, which I have had a few dismissed already..

I remember an article about a kid who screwed some guy over the net for some cb type radio equipment, WELL that ole' boy packaged up an alarm and sent it off to him, killed him and almost killed his mother too... Keep your nose clean, be nice, and treat people how you would want to be treated... pretty simple, I always tell people "go home and talk to your wife and kids like that because here there are consequences"...

ANYWAY, glad to see you had a good experience, I met "70 coronet" last week, me and my father went up to his place and checked out his 69 super bee, real nice car, we are going to work on getting it towed over to my place and get it on a lift to finish up some brake lines and get a wiring issue resolved. I also bought some parts off of him.. I know when guys meet me they sometimes are stand offish, and I know its about my size, but I am the nicest guy in the world, just well watered and fed...

heres the article I referenced above, I found it..

"neighbors said he was a good kid in person but abusive and aggressive online and on the cb radio" just be nice to everyone and dont rob them, then no issues and you dont have to have a stranger open your mail, lol..

What's your number Steve? Lol ...

I love good stories and this thread already has a few. Way to go guys!! :-D

Well Ms Cuda, when you visit the big apple you just let me know and i'll send it to you. LOL.
Ive met a few folks from car forums and for the most part they were as nice in person as on line

The people I have met have all been very cool.

I'd love to see it some time and meet the dozen or so New York customers and countless online friends. The chain from my ankle to my work bench is just too damn short ...

I tried to explain exactly that to him but he was having nothing to do with it. He still acts like a shithead to me and even told me I abuse my power as a mod. If I'm doing that, do you think Joey would continue to have me here as a mod? Told him he got close to being banned from the site but instead he turned it around and told me I was threatening him when I brought it up. I've tried to be nice to him and was even going to follow him on Facebook but he got all bent out of shape over that and called me a stalker. I'm done with him. Please keep him up in NY and away from anyone that owns guns. Thanks.

WTF. Hope he is not the victim of crime in this unsafe Country. Worse yet, the cops might beat the **** out of him - for no reason.

Online and in person are often two different personas. Just like people can be two different characters when driving on the roads. Never know who you're going to get. I try to be even keel in most situations. Try not to have a double personality.

You obviously haven't met me.

Yeah RC - you're definitely an exception. You have a cat agora of your own. It's called multiple personalities. It's a coin toss as to which one you get and which time. It's good to be different........***
