Rear End Swap

Hi everyone!
I`ve recently bought a 70 Plymouth Belvedere and starting to bring it to live. It has a slant six with 7 1/4 rear end. I`m looking to put in it a 400 big block, so i need other rear end. The problem is that there is almost no mopar rear ends here in russia especially for big block. More likely i`ll be able to find ford 8.8", is there an information about this kind of swap? What rear end can be also swapped with not to much heavy modifications?

If you can find an 8 3/4 Dodge/Plymouth B body rear end, the 66-70 models are a bolt in. The 66-67 rear is around 1/2" narrower over all but the spring pads are are in the same place as the 68-70 rears.

I've done the 8.8 swap on a '73 cuda. Had a 3.73 with a locker. Cut off the spring perches set the new on the springs with the U blots somewhat tightened down. Slide the rear end back and forth till you find your center. Then find your pinion angle with the car on jack stands at ride height and weight on the rear. Then tach your perches to the rearend. Pull it from under the car then weld them on.

The E body (70-74 Cuda and Challengers) rears are about 2" wider than the 66-70 B body rears.....

They built a lot of the 8-3/4" rear ends for B-bodies and it is much cheaper/easier if you can find one. You can mix & match center sections. There are two U-joint & yoke sizes, but conversion U-joints are easy to find now.
