exactly my thinking Kern dog. next one will be done with more experience and less mistakes.
deciding between a 71 cuda, 68 charger or 68 dart. probably stick to the charger, but there is just none available in Australia at the moment.
might have to import one.

I was thinking the same thing. This is the year for mine to get worked on. Barring any health issues, it will be worked on....or it's gone.

thanks guys, it looked nice but has some issues with the chassis and the previous owner did not restore it very well, it worked out financially better to sell it and find a new one.

my new one will be complete custom build, twin turbo all aluminium 440 stroked, manual gearbox, custom chassis/suspension and so forth.
now that I have more experience with these cars I wont make all the mistakes I did on the first one.

please keep an ear out for me and cheers for the kind words guys.

a 69 charger project just became available here in aus.
looks to be complete minus front end and bumpers, has replacement AMD rear quarters and floors, also has a 440-500 cube with indy heads and he is asking for 25k.
body looks fairly good.
Not sure whether to jump on this or wait until i get my new place with shed and wait for a 68.
opportunities like this don't come around often though i believe.

what do you guys think? i might be able to get the price down a bit.

Given your location Benno I'm not sure how hard it is to come across. I'm certain it's much more difficult than finding a car in the U.S. or Canada. I love 68's they are my absolute favorite but I can say just in my opinion if I had a chance at a 69 I'd be just as eager.

How hard and expensive is it to wait to find a car in the states and ship it and at the risk of not being able to review the car first hand yourself. There's a value on that as well,

i would snatch up one from the states right now if the dolloar was good, i think the aus - us dollar is only around 70c at the moment, yet a couple of years ago aus was 1.05.
hopefully once it gets good again i will grab one as well as a heap of parts. it only costs around $6k to ship one over. but us cars are alot more expensive in australia, as you can understand.

Totally understand and our dollar is about the same as yours and came from being just as high so taking an absolute beating right now.
With that said though that 69 being local makes a LOT of sense!
