the factory fan switch broke so i need to do a new non-factory toggle type switch. Can anyone tell me how to wire the fan? There are 3 wires in the plug on the heater box. What to I need to send to them to get the various fan speeds working? Ground? Positive? Switched I'm guessing?

Is it possible to add a 12 volt motor controller and make it variable speed? Out of curiosity does anyone know the CFM rating of the factory fan?

thanks in advance

Need some ore info on your car, year AC or not etc which switch broke the dash or one of the box?

There is a heater resistor board on the box under the dash, wasn't sure if that was the switch you were refering too or the one in the dash?

Its a 68 satellite non AC car, the switch that broke was the one on the dash. I figured I could take the wires coming out of the box (the ones coming off the resistor?) and run them to some kind of switch

Here is the diagram, I modified it for you so its a bit easier to look at. So there is black with a trace that comes from the fuse box to a splice under the dash probably in the harness, then turns to a solid black to the switch on the dash, from there you have the variable speed blower so if you get a new switch with multiple contacts like shown you can do it. Jut remeber these cars used a pneumatic vacuum system to open the heater and AC doors on the heater box.

So the switch you are thinking of just operates the blower, you will need to wire open the door if your pneumatics don't work. I looking for the controls detail now I have it some where.
