Probably a stupid question, but I'm grasping here.
Were there different timing covers/timing mark locations on timing covers for the various 440s made over the years or has there been only one?
Were the timing marks moved on the covers from, say, the 440s built up to 1972 versus the ones built all the way into the late 70's?

Cool! I just sold several timing covers and didn't even think about looking around their site to ID them. I pretty much knew what ones were early and late model though but it's still nice to know more about exactly what years they used on.

Are you trying to get TDC based on what the marks are telling you?
Naw, I've done that the old fashioned way (and discovered my crank bolt wasn't torqued properly in the process ).
This engine is a morph of sorts between '75 block and '68 everything else. Was just curious as to which dang timing cover I have.
It all worked out. New harmonic balancer from Summit is dead on.
