Okay, so I may have a few issues here. I am trying to get my car ready to take to the shop and wanted the windows out of the car. I tried taking out the passenger side glass and I will admit, it didn't go well at all. The four screws holding the glass in are rusted tight and I stripped the screw heads trying to get it out. Only thing left was to drill them out so I did. So here are my questions:

1. Does anyone make the screws and rubber pads that connect the window to the track? If so where would one find such a kit.
2. I took out all the brackets. How bad am I going to regret this? Is it super hard to put back in?
3. My glass is not in the greatest condition, I am thinking of replacing it all. Who makes the best repops for this. I have read a lot of posts saying most is junk so I didn't know if there was any good ones out there to buy from.

Thanks for all your help!

Side door glass could have been removed by pulling the push pin that retains the glass to the track and lifting the window out.

I just went through the same thing. i used round rubber gaskets I found at Ace Hardware to cushion the glass. They needed to have the center hole enlarged with a leather type punch that a shoe repair shop helped me with. A small shop owner who repairs car windows and door locks was able to help be with the screws that I needed to replace-it was a challenge finding someone who was willing to help me with small details like that.

Don't worry about taking out the window brackets or replacng them. At first, they seem really complicated, but once you figure out how they all fit together it becomes easy after a few trial and error sessions.

My side glass (and rear glass) had some scratches, but I just used them "as is" because I thought my money would be better spent on a new windshield. Now that I know how the side window mechanisms work, I feel competent to replace the side glass in the future, if I should so desire. I derusted and painted the window mechanisms and they turned out so well that my upholstery person thought everything internal was new-fooled him good.

I didn't see any pins that would allow it to easily come out. The fsm showed screws that needed to come out for the glass to come out.

Thanks for the information! Were you able to find replacement rubber like gaskets that goes over the outside edges or did you reuse your old stuff? Mine has deteriorated.

I don't know what you mean about "outside edges" but I can tell you all the window weatherstripping, rubber and felts, are available in the aftermarket

Here is a picture of what I'm referencing. This one is actually okay but the others are pretty bad.

Did you use the same style screws for the track/window mounts? the four that attach the cross track to the glass itself? Meaning were they flush against it? if it doe not have to be flush, I believe I can find some screws that will work. I can not find those style screws anywhere online! They sell everything but those. Classic even has the rubber mounts but not the screws themselves.

I located the proper angled headed screws that hold the track to the front side windows as second hand parts from the window installer guy. They were "used", probably came from another year, make, and model Mopar. They were found in a box of various types of screws/washers/fasteners after searching around his shop.

That's cool! I think I am going to head to home depot and and see if I can find a similar head and make a new fastener to the back side with padding. Shouldn't matter as long as it's not to long and fits the hole properly. Thankfully I still have some good ones left.

Ironic, was on my way home from working on my car one time and went to Lowe's and Home Depot for a home improvement project I was working on. That day, removed those from my door and one was rusted in. I had the screws in my pocket and Lowe's had the EXACT same screw there too. WOO HOO

So I went to lowes last night and they had the screw I was looking for. They had one slightly longer and one slightly shorter so I got the linger one with the idea that if it doesn't hit anything on the back side, then I'm okay. In retrospect, I think the shorter on will work too and will get those to avoid cutting any bolts. Here is a picture of what I am talking about incase anyoneugh ever need to replace these screws:

The other package is a half inch and I will probably go back and get those. Hopefully this will help someone.

I am also finding the same thing when shopping to replace Mopar fasteners, they frequently are an odd length. The store inventories are either too short or too long to make a perfect match.
