I just started a robotics club in our high school. Only difference is instead of competing in local battlebots competitions, I thought I might get these kids doing something useful to help those in need.

So we partnered with eNABLE (http://enablingthefuture.org/about/) and will begin 3D printing high quality, custom prosthetics for local children and wounded vets as well as anyone else that needs our help.

Oh, and forget the $10,000 these things usually fetch. We will provide them 100% free of charge. No kiddin.

So if you don't mind my asking, could you share this link? Thing is, even though we give them away (we won't even charge for shipping), it costs us like $75 - $100 to make one (for 3D printer filament, hardware) so we started a GoFundMe page to help with the costs.

More important than donations, if any of you guys are members of veterans organizations, kids organizations, churches or whatever, spread the word for us man. We need more than money, we need you to help us to reach those in need so maybe we can help.

Thanks.

Brilliant cause. I will support in any way I can. Very noble and well founded.

Kudos to you sir!!!!!!

My dad lost his leg in a motorcycle accident when I was about 13 years old.

I wish he would've had something like this available to him back then.

Thanks fellas. Been trying for some time to get this goin and seems like I finally might have it. Kids are excited and some of them even looked away from their Pokémon Go for half a click. Haha, just kiddin, I've been blessed with a great group of kids - so excited to help they can't quite contain themselves.

HT that is awesome! Especially in a time where our kids need to be taught the value of generosity, compassion and what a good role model is!!!

HT, it's great that your helping those young people with a noble cause. Congrats to you and them. Donation made. God Bless.

Damn right, mike. I think we all see it, more and more, so many kids prefer to disengage ffrom their 'now', burying their face in their phones rather than talk with people around them. It's like a disease.

So yeah, I want to help people who need prosthetics, but I could just buy a 3D printer and build them myself in my garage, right? Nah, I'd much rather help more kids by affording them an opportunity to help others.
