Is the wide chrome trim that runs along the bottom of the windows what the fender tag code M31 - belt mouldings indicate? The RR has it but not the GTX or SS. It seems too fancy for a RR... unnecessary added weight and all. I do like the look though. I don't see it on many cars.
Thanks!

Edit: A quick search and I answered my own question.
Thanks.

Yes it lines up with the belt on your trousers!

Yes my A14 '69 RR has that option. You don't see it often and almost never see it with post cars.

My 68 RR has them and are coded on the broadcast sheet. it is a piller coupe.

Did this come on Coronets at all?

Also took the car for a cruise last night and it reminded me, the cats whiskers on the door, my new ones seam short? like an inch too short. They cover the window as it moves up and down etc, but the little extension bit of door that aligns with the rear quarter window has no whiskers. Is this normal? they are brand new...

Don't know about Coronets, but Chargers have this fuzz covered rubber filler plug

SO I'm missing the fuzzie plug! So now what would you call that if your looking to buy one? Does any one repop them?

How do the M31 belt trims attach? I quite like the look of them!

They attach with these little jewels, through approx 1/4" holes in the door. I was lucky to find an NOS front belt trim pair with a bunch of these in the packages.

I have them on my 69 rr post and true I never see them on a bird. I like how it completes window opening.

Yikes I like them, call me a pussy but I don't like drilling up my car! Plus finding them NOS etc. I will simply admire them from afar!

On a side note they look like the door card clips? Would they work for you if you lost those ones?

the belt molding on the rear window is mounted with screws from inside the car. no holes to drill in the quarter. only would need to drill holes in the top of the door. i have a spare door with the holes if you need to make a template.

IIRC, they are smaller than the door panel clips and the dp clips don't have the "cushion". Not sure if the dp clips would work.

I went through this when I replace a door on my convertible. The door panel clips don't fit and you need the OEM ones altough you could probably rig up something to hold the door trim on (other clips, adhesive, etc.). I found that the exact location of the holes you drill isn't critical. They're just evenly spaced along the door and the clips can slide back & forth in the trim.
