Today was cold again like the last couple of weeks.
The temp. was 7degrees and I went out to warm up my Dakoda. The doors were frozen again so I used a wooden wedge to open the drivers side. Got it running to warm it up and came back inside.
When I got back I found the doors locked. I guess my arm hit the lock on my way out from the first start.
So now my dakoda is warming up and I can't get in. yuck.
Hmm---where is my extra key?? This is a 98 that I bought new. I have extra keys somewhere:).
I found two keys in a desk and one of them was what I needed. (wow--after 19 years I found a spare key??).
This was a first with this car but it was the second time I have been reminded to always have a backup key/fob in a pocket when leaving a car.

Mite cost you some money, but tow truck companies usually have the tools to unlock your vechile n it only takes a couple minutes, new or old n if all else fails the old brick trick works well
Lol:mad:

I thought you were going to say the locks were froze up, after finding the key. That would have sucked!

At least you had a happy ending. It could have been worse. That's why people have AAA coverage.....Lol

It's funny you mentioned AAA. I have been a member since the early seventies.

A couple of days ago I lost traction getting out of my driveway (with chains) and slid back near a very steep slope on my driveway.
I called AAA and they said they were sorry that they could not help me cause they were very busy. Well crap--I have been a paying member for 40 years and when I asked them to help me they put me off.

I called a local towing company and got a really talented guy that got my PU back on flat ground without a scratch.
I guess that AAA will help me out with this $300 charge but time will tell about that.

The up side of things gowing wrong (for me) is that all I needed to get out for was beer. (and food:))
This is a wake up call of sorts. ---BTW I live where snow weather is not a normal issue. -- NW Oregon.

Can't remember the last time I saw a car or pickup with chains. Wouldn't even know where to start looking for them.

Remote starter would solve this, warm up your car from the comfort of your couch. I've had them on every car for the last 25 years or so.

Or you simply could park in a garage.
