Does anyone know if the reproduction "Mopar" bulkhead connector male terminals like you can find on eBay and other places fit the ORIGINAL Mopar bulkhead connectors and not just the reproduction connectors? The eBay seller pictures of the "Mopar" bulkhead connector terminals look just like the ubiquitous Delphi Packard 56 terminals and NOT like the terminals that came out my car's bulkhead connector. I know the Packard 56 terminals won't fit the original Mopar connectors - even though they are similar in design - because I have tried them: the blade part is slightly shorter and the end of the fish hook part of them won't catch on the part of the connector it needs to catch on to stay in. I hate to have to buy new bulkhead connectors - when the ones I have are fine - just to get terminals and connectors that are designed to fit together properly, because they are expensive.

I just finished up my dash harness and bulkhead connector and used packard 56 terminals and they worked just fine in my original connectors and bulkhead. Car is a 69' bee

I'm wondering if Chrysler didn't change bulkhead connectors by the time the '73 models rolled out because I couldn't get Packard 56 male terminals in my connectors to save my life. They would only go in so far then get stuck; only a small amount - maybe 1/8" - would make it thru to the other side for the female end to mate to, which is not enough IMO. I could post a picture of one of my connectors male terminals, but they have longer blades than the Packard 56's and are considerable smaller at the end of them (less square).

The Mopar female terminals are even different than the Packard 56 ones: they don't have that extra tab inside them to give them more contact and they don't have the little dimple to help lock them in place. The Delphi Packard terminals are of a much better design for that type of quick disconnect terminal.

You can get them at NAPA,buy them in bulk, they are a lot less than individual.

Are you talking about the Packard 56 or the Mopar terminals? I already bought several boxes of the Packard 56 terminals in bulk at Carquest, and like I stated above the male Packard 56 terminals don't fit my bulkhead connector shells because the blades on them are too short and probably the wrong shape.

I've used some from classic industries, in my original 68 connectors and they fit fine, just have to wiggle and push to get them all the way through...and make sure your crimps are small enough to slide in a little..yours different from these?

Yes, those are the Packard 56 terminals like I bought that don't work. The original ones out of my '73 are slightly longer and taper more to the tip of the blades: my male originals measure .20" at the square end and the Packard 56's are .25. The Packard 56 male terminals won't even fit into into my female original terminals in the bulkhead connector because they are too wide. The original female terminals I have don't have the extra tab with the dimple in the terminal to give them better contact like the Packard 56 pictured above, also. I suspect Chrysler in all their wisdom must have changed the terminals in their bulkhead connectors sometime in the early '70's, maybe when they changed from black to white connectors.

Mopar changed the terminals on 75 or 76 with this kind then a slight change on 77 female ones... rest ( earliers ) were the packard 56 ones

On Packards terminals, i have found some wires got the terminals with the extra tab and dimple on them, and some other not. Maybe is related to the load should get that wiring, or maybe is about whatever manufacturer got in stock.

Some were in fact brass, and some others aluminium. I have not found any pattern to tell why it was that.

Chrysler wasn't known for their outstanding electrical systems, and in fact the bulkhead connector was a very weak link in their very outdated system. It didn't help that they ran full charging power thru the bulkhead connector to an in-dash amp gauge like they used on Model T's either. I think I may just remove all the terminals from the connector and run the wires straight thru the connector, either splicing them properly (not with cheap hardware store splice connectors) under the dash or running them directly to where they need to go. The bulkhead connector - and other sorts of quick disconnects - was more of an idea car manufacturers had to aid with production than anything else back then. I don't think they use bulkhead connectors any more.

I needed some as well. Went to a local bumper to bumper store and had those with the protective covers for less than $5. They crimped on the wires good, I even soldered them, and went right in no issues
