Whats in your Fleet?

I remember when I used to have this disease, but fortunately I've been cured... of course, you're never really cured of an addiction. I used to have a yard full of 72-74 Roadrunners, and most of them sat. I kept saying "I'm going to (insert fantasy here) someday...", but I knew I never was, and having all those cars meant others who would actually do something with them wouldn't have them, so I stopped kidding myself and sold them all. My view then became that I would rather have one car that is exactly what I want than a dozen kinda-sorta "like" cars that will sit around doing nothing for me.

That being said, I'm still on the lookout for cars all the time, like several times a day, but it's more for informational purposes and for helping others find projects. I get the thrill of finding a gem, without the hassles of owning it. :)

haha i totally here that. but im just havent started rehab yet... maybe ill get there. im at the point i scan CL but search every nearby area that itll let me (about 200mile radius i think) search by has image, posted today, max year of 1975. and quickly scroll through the 100 or so new ones that pop up. once in a while i find something that i need a part off of or intrigues me. but most of the time i love looking at the old junk seeing what someone else did that they thought was cool. getting cool ideas for my own stuff. and it seems more recently, flagging a wave of second gen chargers that keep popping up for only $2000 some scammer in Maine the images always search out to some auction out west. fortunately i check frequently enough that i catch them before the listing is a couple hours old. its gotten to the point where tehre at least one every three days from this guy that i have an open email chain with craigslist personnel and the maine state police. with enough CL ID#s and burner cell phone numbers maybe theyll eventually snag the asshole.

My two favorite cars in my 'fleet'.

Does that Beaver Class C have a 440? Beavers are nice rigs.

I'm a low level hitter amongst big leathers here.
The Class C is a 73 Dodge/Fireball & the Chopped Bug is a 56 body on a 69 pan w/the constant camber IRS, has a 67 911S t-axle, 4 wheel drilled discs & a hand fabbed front subframe & heim located, coil over suspension....
the V8 is a Lexus 4.0 aluminum cammer

If more people were like you, including those in this thread, more cars would be on the road and appreciated instead of the opposite. Thanks for doing your part for the hobby.

yup, 440/727 got it for free on CL drove it the hour home. started gutting it to modernize the inside but have a cool old camper, but the roof leaked so long that the whole structure was too far gone. as it sits now, its a convertible van/cab/chassis. so itll be the perfect chassis for a car hauler. running driving stopping 12.5k gvw big block, not a bad start.

My cars 1970 chevelle, 1964 Plymouth, 1940 ford, and 1963 Dodge

Like for most everyone here, life can be stressful and hectic. But the minute the garage door opens up, it is the 70's again to me. I get in a lot better mood, regain enthusiasm, and all around feel a lot younger. I feel lucky not be in a wheel chair,
or walking around with an oxygen bottle. So, as long as I can maintain the old cars I will continue to do so. I have been doing it for 40 years, and I remember when I had just one to take care of,my 68 Charger.(1974)

Now days A lot of my time is spent on helping younger guys with parts and experience to save them time and money. The enthusiasm they have in their faces when they come to visit warms my heart. Now, I have never taken a car to a show, and rarely go to any. It's good enough for me to have one sitting in the driveway. To me a particular car reminds me of a particular place and time, Be it a four door sedan or a muscle car.
What is the most fun is to Interact with people from all over the U.S. that are looking for parts or advice. When I can't do that any more, I guess I'll call it a day. Until then, Though,,,,,,,,

I too have that special attraction to beavers, but never seen one yet with a 440 stuffed in......
But I'll keep lookin:rofl:
A Guy I knew at Corona airport in 90's had a 28' C Beaver w/ a 440. I had a Travel Craft C 26' w/ a 440 08 - 09. Two 24' C Tiogas & my present 24’ C Fireball, all 360’s.
Always Mopars for motorhomes,,,,toughest out there,,,horrible gas mileage bc of 4:10 gears though.

Yes, it is. Belongs to my Homie Pete. I don't think He wants to part with it, but I'll ask when He gets back in a couple days. It's a roller,, no engine & trans.
