I read about this in the paper this morning and it truly disgusting. What the story doesn't say is that Miss Farruggia has 5 or 6 other children who were already in state custody when this incident happened.

CONCORD, N.H. — A 29-year-old Granite State woman who demanded her friend use a dirty syringe to shoot her up with heroin and methamphetamine as she was going into labor is behind bars — and so his her pal, who injected her moments before she gave birth in the back of an ambulance, police announced yesterday.

Felicia Farruggia, of Concord, was arrested earlier this week on a charge of felony reckless conduct, six months after her son was born with methamphetamine and amphetamine in his system, Concord police said. Her friend, Rhianna Frenette, 37, of Belmont, N.H., is facing a misdemeanor count on the same offense for allegedly dosing Farruggia before anyone called 911.

Farruggia’s son, who was born Sept. 16 in stable condition, was breathing rapidly upon delivery, police say. He is now in state custody.

At the time of her son’s birth, police said, Farruggia’s urine tested positive for methamphetamine, amphetamine and benzodiazepine.

“This case is just, honestly, absolutely appalling in my mind,” Concord police Lt. Sean Ford said yesterday.

“No one died,” he said. “But the risk to that child and to the mother ... This stuff is just getting out of control.”

Both women were arraigned from jail yesterday. Farruggia was ordered held on $15,000 cash bail and bail was set at $25,000 for Frenette.

Although Farruggia “was in full-blown labor” inside a home on Elmwood Avenue, she said Frenette offered to shoot her up with heroin to “take the edge off,” according to court documents.

But Frenette told police she found Farruggia on the bathroom floor, “essentially mutilating herself with a needle” in a desperate attempt to get the drugs into her system, police said.

Frenette also said Farruggia was “very hostile” and wouldn’t allow her boyfriend or Frenette to call for an ambulance until the drugs were in her system.

Although she admitted to injecting Farruggia with an unsanitary needle and acknowledged what she did was wrong, police said, Frenette said she only did it because she’s a “people pleaser.”

A short time later, firefighters arrived at the home and helped Farruggia give birth to her son as she was being loaded into a waiting ambulance, court documents show.

After her arrest, police said, Farruggia told investigators she took drugs through more than half of her pregnancy.

No one answered the door yesterday at the Elmwood Avenue home where the incident occurred, which was boarded up and plastered with numerous “no trespassing” signs.

Both women have criminal records. Farruggia has been involved in “guardianship of a minor” cases, an individual parenting petition and a custody petition dating back to 2005.

i read that this morning too, unbeleivable. and she has 6 other kids in the system. rediculous. i read a story in manchester yesterday, a kid i grew up with up at winnipesaukee was arrested for guns heroine and coke and it was on a parole visit, so he was already in trouble. its such a shame how bad drugs are getting up here. makes me worry how bad itll be by the time my sons are out in the world... its usually just local news you hear about that kind of stuff, im curious how bad it is in the rest of the country.

This is a result of our bleeding heart moral"MINORITY". If it was up to me, the second child delivered by a crack whore would be accompanied with a FULL ******* historectomy! One of my employees adopted a child of a crack whore, her SIXTH one! While they were going through the adoption "act of congress " the piece of **** got pregnant and dumped yet another burden on society! Those poor kids now have the baby, actually 10 year old now, in a special institution in New Mexico dealing with a very disturbed and messed up human being. The govt pays for much of this but the parents are required to visit monthly at their expense. It isn't cheap to get to New Mexico and back to Sacrament that often!

Sad, just sad...

Some of these people {or off-springs} will be running our country in our future...

Remember the 60's early 70's drug scene {the ones that aren't still living it}
those are the very people, that said down with the man, that became the man...

Poor kid

when we had my first son two years ago, there were 20something people waiting for us to meet the baby, and only 8 chairs at the end of the hall for visitors. there was one dad of another lady who was having a baby. but there was 26 babies born that day. we asked the nurses why there werent more waiting chairs, and why there werent more waiting family members and friends for all those babies being born. we were told we were the exception. most babies they saw being born are non married single moms, mostly kids, or drugged out people with no one. she said she she started working 20 years ago the waiting room had 30 chairs and was usually filled. just this past October, having my second son, we had just as many people, but they were down to 4 chairs, and we didnt see a single other person waiting. so sad that the family dynamic is getting so f'd up. we are screwed when these kids run the place. itd be nice if vasectomy's worked at birth. just like baby boys getting circumcised, right at birth, they turn off their balls. when the kid turns maybe 21, and proves hes a contributing member of society, with a steady job, then his balls get turned back on and he can start a family. i also think anyone who collect welfare needs to be required to have their junk turned off until they can make ends meet on their own.
