New suspension vs old street manners ? Front sway bar?

Old set up -
comp 50/50 rear shocks
Strange 70/30 front
Cal tracs
Cal mono leaf springs relocated
Steel wheels 235s up front

New set up -
Calvert 50/50 rear shocks
Calvert 90/10 front shocks
Same cal tracs
Same cal mono leafs
Sliders I stalled (lowered rear 2" & I'm told hooks better)
Weld pro stars with skinnies in front

Big question is my shop is telling me to remove the front sway bar to get the front to lift quick. Im leaning towards removing it but how noticable will it be in the street? I'm not carving corners or anything but still do cruise and would like to take an off ramp at like 30 with out dying lol. . . Are all my mods going to be that noticable on the street? (Handle much worse for what I'm doing)

The 90/10's are going to be a SOB on the street, remove the sway bar when you go racing
 
Well my 70 coronet I had with 383 4speed and stock suspension w sway bar handled pretty well in the street, my 67 with no sway bar and stock suspension handled like a school bus. Feels like it's going to capsize if I enter a corner to hard lol

I never had 90/10's but I read on this forum from a few guys that have and they did not recommend on the street, are they adjustable?
 
Hmm I don't think they are.... It's crazy though what happens to my front adjustable strange shocks I'm going to start a thread on them

I would think best bet for your street strip application would've been to go with a double adjustable shock, like the Viking warrior or the qa1's
 
I wanted to go with the Vikings, just couldn't find the part number for my shock. Tried calling and couldn't get through to anyone and the website is down

Ya their website has been down for some time now, I ordered them through PST who is a site vendor here and got 10% off
 
no sway bar works fine if you are only going in a straight line,
B Body cars with big blocks especially are fairly heavy and you add in going around corners you get alot of body roll. For one thing, it can be uncomfortable, disconcerting, or even dangerous for a vehicle to roll too much in turns. More subtly, uncontrolled body roll tends to cause the wheels’ alignment, and in particular their camber (tilting inward or outward) to change, reducing how well they can grip the road; limiting body roll also tends to keep camber controlled, meaning more consistent grip for braking and turning. If you want to go to the track just disconnect the sway bar end links, that way the sway bar stays in place (not connected) while racing and before you leave the track connect the end links for driving on the street and you get the best of both worlds, racing and driving on the street. A front sway bars is worth every penny spent.

When you say the rear shocks are 50/50 Calvert do you really mean to say that they are 9 way Adj Calverts....you MUST have the 9 way Adj Calverts to make the system work plus 6" of frt wheel travel wit the 90/10s
 
Exactly , they are the 9 way adjustable in rear and doing the 90/10 culverts in front

The outside front will dive like a son of a bitch without a sway bar. If you run skinnies on the front its going to feel like they're going to come off the rim !!
 
"496" be gentle! It'll be a like an old-school Buick,Caddy,etc. BUT you can handle it.
 
I run Calvert 90/10's up front on the street; I don't notice any ill effects at all. Although I drive my car fairly carefully. I'm not throwing it into corners or anything.
If the front end is in good shape otherwise, I can't imagine a shock setting would make too much of a difference one way or the other. ??
 
Sorry '496' ur too young to have any experience with "old" mushy Buicks&Caddy's, LOL. They were atrocious!
