I love all these tree huggers who get sooooo upset when you want to cut some down on your own property. As far as I'm concerned, pine trees are nothing but big weeds & the only thing they are good for is to cut them down and make houses out of them. Now I'm not advocating clear cutting of forests, but we have more trees on the planet now than ever before and all of those trees absorb carbon dioxide and convert it to oxygen. When you see all these stone walls in the middle of the woods, what that means is that all those woods were nothing but fields 100-200 years ago. And guess what, life went on perfectly well when those woods were nothing but fields.

Why is it when people disagree it's automatically a conspiracy ? Just an observation on my part now. May I ask what area in science are you working in ? Were talking the earth tilting two degrees, which has been reported a while back. So the areas that had a certain amount of sun exposure, has changed, increased or decreased. Does that make sense to you ? Does it affect the weather "climate change" in a given area ? I've read that all science is theory, until it's either proven by others research, or some others disproves the first one's work, which has happened. What is the amount of the over all temperature increased ? In reading, there has been no increase in the earths temperature in over nineteen years, in fact there has been a cooling trend. Additionally, the first two scientist who came out with the theory that we were experiencing "global warming" were proven to be fudging the data. When asked to share it, they said they had moved and it got lost in the move. Can you see why I and many others, including scientists call hoax on this "sky is falling" theory. It's been warmer, it's been colder in the past years. And most of the data was before the industrial age. We are experiencing climate change, but is it cause by man ? obummer signed a climate deal with China, but they don't have to act on for decades. The US on the other, has is being punished before the ink was dry on that document. And we pollute substantially less than most industrialized countries. I have more to post here when I look it up. Looking forward to your input......

the "tilt" refered to is the magnetic pole location.not the physical axis of the planet.so no change in sun exposure.it is a proven fact that water levels world wide are rising.ice caps are melting.there is photo evidence.did we cause it or is it normal?very hard to say with measurable evidence.it is happening and ignoring it is a great chicken little reference.

global climate stuff has become such a political football that it's not worth arguing too much about it. The data for mean surface temperature has been collected for over a century now and shows a clear trend upward particularly in the last 15 years. The raw data is on the NASA website.
the way I look at it is that humans adapt. Our kids will adapt. Because human lifespans are so short we think this perfect world goes on and on forever unchanged. But it wont. On a long enough time scale the sun becomes a red giant and engulfs what's left of the earth, burning up all the monuments we built to stand the test of time. Hopefully by then people will have found another place in the universe to hang out. I hope by the time my kids get to college age there will be manned missions to mars so we can start that process of getting a plan B.

This hole is rather suspicious for it to be have cause by an explosion. Look at the dirt in the sides of the hole. It don't spread much beyond the hole it self. Had an explosion caused this hole, the dirt would have been thrown many feet beyond it.But we do....

Absolutely no correlation between CO2 levels and global temps. Case closed. Beyond that, global temps have been much higher in the past.
They want the power to throw you in jail, just because you tell them they are full of it. Many more stories where this came from......

Richard, were are down wind from the biggest polluter on the planet, you would think by now this damage would have rendered the US uninhabitable. There is detectable damage, and you can put the blame directly obummer, who gave them thirty years before they are to start cleaning up. We on the other hand got even tighter regulations, on top of already tight ones. So who is serious about saving the planet ? This is about control of capitalism, nothing more. But don't get me wrong, we should do all we can to clean up the planet. Just not under the commie lefts terms.

The Earth warms up, and it cools off. Pretty much a steady cycle throughout time with plenty of records. When Eric the Red started to colonize Greenland in 985 A.D. there was lots of fish in the ice free waters, the shores were covered in grass and the colony thrived as a farming community for hundreds of years with a northern and southern settlement, before it became colder, freezing the ocean. The last recorded supply ship got through to the southern group in 1410, the northern settlement was already crushed by ice by 1350. This was part of the 'little ice age' from 1300 to 1850. If things continue to warm, perhaps we will again see the type of Greenland that Eric visited. The Earth survived that warm period just fine.
The Roman records show a similar warming trend from 200 - 600 A.D. as well. While we don't have their actual thermometer readings, we do know that they had grape and olive groves in parts of Europe that are still too cold for that agriculture today. Finland was a wheat growing breadbasket for the Empire. The Earth survived that warm period as well.
Researchers taking cores from dead trees that lived in California around 1350 A.D. estimate that the temperature at that time was 3.2 C degrees warmer than it is right now. Those trees were growing above the current tree-lines and couldn't thrive today. The Earth survived just fine.
I'm not worried about imminent warming, I suspect that it's coming and it isn't man made. What worries me is the politics and money-making behind the scenes because of it.

Yep, and bras cause breast cancer. Studies show that cultures whose women wear bras have much higher breast cancer levels. Now of course this correlation breaks down when we compare on a person-to-person level so we naturally assume outside factors are the real cause since bras are worn in more modern societies with smog, etc. where breast cancer is highest.
Funny thing is that the same problem exists with temperature and CO2 data - the data cannot verify which causes which. Just ask a climate scientist and you'll hear the same set of lines, oh you're a skeptic, surely the man made evil factories belching out CO2

We know that the atmosphere is affected by solar activity, tectonic / volcanic activity, atmospheric particulate, etc. What if these factors are causing the atmosphere to warm, and when it does, it absorbs more CO2 from the ocean just like ice tea mix dissolves way easier in warm water than in ice water. (The ocean just happens to hold over 90% of the world's carbon.)
What if atmospheric CO2 is a SYMPTOM, not a cause.

Some "scientists" are commited to learning how stuff works. Others have ideas in their heads and only seek information that feeds their ideas.
There used to be a strong ethic in the scientific community to shun those with agendas. Maybe it's still there --but we tend hear what makes news for what the current taste of the day is.
