I found my original Mopar sending unit today. The brass float is rotted but the sender itself looks decent enough. I recall somebody restored them but i cant remember were i saw it. Anyone know and thanks
 
You can buy brass floats. I think vendors like Mancini or Vans has them. I would bother trying to restore a brass float I don't think.
 
Bob's is great, they used to be a half mile from my house, then moved to Howell years ago (about a half hour drive from me now).
They have done a few things for me over the years and most people around here use them.
Thanks for that feedback...I personally have not used them but they were highly recommended from a friend....Whenever I find the correct original sender for my X I will be sending that to them...
 
Why not repair it yourself? The brass float and the pickup sock are both available from Auto Metal Direct for around $20 for both parts. If the pickup is rusty, give it a bath in evapo-rust and you should be good to go!
