Yup.
You are living a target rich environment.
4 NRA members in Commie -fornia? Hell, just open a window and randomly fire your guns around. Anything you hit is going to be a Liberal that needs a cure.![]()
Thank you , thank you. They wont come here..too rural for them. That's why we keep it that way, keeps the riff raff out. lol. No billboards and neon signs everywhere , just farms and hay fields. I have been to CA but a long time ago. I stayed with one of my older brothers in Monterey from 1976 -1977 over the winter. Liked it a lot. The sameness of the weather was weird but when your young it's cool. I was 19 at the time. I retired up here from Ft Jackson, SC and missed being able to ride the HOG in the winter. If that's so, how come so many people keep moving here? I'd just as soon they move to Vermont if you don't mind...California is the subject of a lot of folks' jokes from across the country. I'll bet most of them have never visited the "Golden State" for any length of time. When I'm still driving my hot rod this winter I'll be thinking of all you guys who aren't...lol. BTW, Vermont is a beautiful state as well.

But you do have to put up with all of the over reaching laws and regulations that the people from the populated areas ram down your throat, and make the whole state abide by no matter where you live in cali.I guess that's what a lot of folks think about California. "Tinsel Town" comes to mind, but all you have to do is fly over this state to realize that the majority of the land is agricultural or mountainous. Sure, you have the populated areas around Los Angeles and the San Francisco Bay Area but they don't define the entire state. Once you get out of the cities, and believe me there's a ton of things to see and do there, you get into the rural areas that aren't any different than most states. Take your pick; the coast, the mountains, the desert or the forests. It's not unusual to visit a couple of those areas in the same day.
I agree with you about lacking four seasons. If that's in your DNA, so be it. However, you can leave the valley with temperatures in the 70s and 80s and head to the Sierras for some snow skiing and be home the same evening...
I'm not saying that we don't have some wacky folks here but California is big enough that I don't have to deal with them...
