Nore did the tin fit a none hp cleaner. The point is there were really no parts in the engine its self that would make a 383-4 an hp or not an hp.
The cam was different, the valve springs were different, the carb was different and the HP, usually, had a windage tray. Yes, there were internal differences. How else would you know what was internal if you didn't have an external marking, say an HP stamp?
