I am starting to plan when I want to replace the glass in my Coronet. When I did the restoration I was happy to say the glass was original. My expectation of the paint and body work was low but it turned out too damn good. There are a lot of scratches from trying to get the trim off from someone siliconing it trying to seal the rear window years ago and the windshield has a lot of micro scratches that the fall/winter Az sun about blinds me at time with the star burst in the windshield.

Is there a go-to place to get a full set of factory looking tinted glass? I know of the AMD (though right now they don't have much of the tinted in stock) is there any place else?

You can get it date coded as well. A full set to your door will cost about $2000. Also be aware that all new glass out there will show tempering. (those shadow looking lines in your glass that you see on newer cars.)

Thanks, I knew there was someone who had the date coded. I have also read a few things about the new glass being a bit thicker (rear) and trouble with trim going back on?

I got my glass from my local auto glass shop, tinted. (Not safelite)

That is an option I need to look into as well. Torn on the date coding thing. I like seeing that in the glass.
AMD and ECS use the same glass manufacturer JD international...You cannot buy direct from them...

The difference solely falls on the date coding and the correct logo's solely offered by ECS....The AMD just has one Chrysler logo and no date...

My X I replaced all glass with ECS and everything fit and looked perfect. The etchings are 100% spot on. Glass has to be to current DOT standards, no exception when sold new. No judge on the planet would ding you for new glass but will for the incorrect date.....

Agree, agree, agree! I used ECS for my T/A and the date coding/etching is perfect. Glass fits properly and looks fantastic. It comes at a cost though so as always, it comes down to what look you're going for and what you are willing to spend to get it...

My car is not that sort of judging quality. It is smaller local show type of car so the coding is really just for me.

Thanks for the info.

Jim, Auto City Classics . com out of Mn. are pretty good folks to deal with if your not after OEM or numbers.
We have used them in the past and they have top notch service , shipping , ect.
All the glass we have bought from them was scratch free and fit great.
I looked yours up and its $849 for the complete set, your choice of original green tint , smoke grey, or clear,. They also custom cut glass if anyone needs that service.
