1968 Satellite seat with buddy seat center. Has anyone here taken a later model 6 way power seat mechanism and adapted it to a stock seat? I think that would make a great " how to" article................................MO

The M body six way seat frame is really, really close to the "classic" six way seat frame.

It would not be hard at all to retro fit it. IIRC the front mounts are different, and that's about all.

I don't understand what you are saying. What is an M body, and what is a " classic " six way seat frame? Thanks..........................MO

M body is 5th Ave, Diplomat, and Gran Fury (also LeBaron, IIRC).

Realistically a power seat is probably only going to be found in a 5th Ave, but nearly all of those have them, and probably 60% of LeBarons, but I see WAY more 5th Ave's in u-pills. I see at least 2 per year for the past several years in my JY circuit.

By "Classic", I mean the 68-70 seats.

I was kind of holding on to this as one of those "best kept secrets" of Mopar interchange. No they'll probably all be gone the first day the car arrives.

I didn't know they had 6 way power seats in 68-70. Maybe that is what I should look for. Anyone got one to sell? ...................MO

Came out in 69

70 ha a power option, IIRC.

68-70 are typically around $600 IF you can find one. More for power.

M body at JY is about $25.

Raise and lower the seat front or rear edges.
Is it easy to adjust? You know how tall I am , and the wifey. She wants the seat raised up, and I want it lowered. She is long legged, and forward-back is not so important. You know where I can get one? it should bolt right in...............................MO

Thanks , I would like to see one. Salvage yards are not plentiful around this area.............................MO

The only one i know of is my brothers and he found it 20 years ago for his 69 R/T. It wasnt cheap then and costs a lot more pesos now. Wonder if there are any of those newer power ones around?

That would be ideal for you and your wife. Big difference in height.

'68 Plymouth w/buddy seat you say?
When this post was made, it caused me to be curious...why the question , not unusual , but maybe it is? I took the seats and carpet out. Had a heck of a time getting the buddy seat out. It appears that someone drilled holes in the driveshaft tunnel to mount it , and made some dents too. The buddy seat is stock looking and the correct upholstery color and material. What you think?...........................MO

"buddy seats" were available all years 66-74 with either auto on the column or four speed.

probably 3 speed on the floor as well.

Sounds like someone found bucket seats and buddy seat from another 68 satty in the right color? Buddy seat brackets are welded on the tunnel not bolted.

There should not have been any denting necessary.

There are factory flat spots for the brackets of both a buddy seat and a console stamped into the floor/hump.

OK, I guess if the factory brackets weren't used.

That's what I thought too Dale, I expected to see brackets. I'm pretty sure Sport Satty had bucket seats , but maybe no buddy seat and someone added it . The b.s. was kinda floppy- maybe I should build some brackets. I have no idea what they look like.......MO
