Isn't it comforting to know that when you are about to become a bear's breakfast your buddy is standing there taking photos?

Why aren't these idiots carrying a 50 cal?

We were all trained for that job from our first day of Kindergarten. Even the "all fall down", part! How did they know?

I'd like to know how this event ended ....
I recall seeing that video and I think he was able to get into the truck.........................while his "buddy" filmed the whole thing.

Salary is not paid on an hourly rate. That is called a wage.
Salary is an annual based payment split into fortnightly or monthly amounts.

Do you suppose the guy filming rubbed a steak all over that guys parka?

he better pray he doesn't trip and fall down.

And BTW that's a small one.

You measure a bear from nose to tail. This is me with a 7ft Kodiak. Just a average one, they can get to the 10 ft range. Polar bears can get to 11-12 I think

Jesus, look at the claws on that dude. If he ever swiped you with them you would lose some meat....

If he can't see you he'll smell you. They can smell things a mile away .Cooked a leg of lamb on my grill 2 hours later a bear showed up. No lamb but climbed a tree and tore my cloth line with the bird feeder.

I think the photos were likely staged, but it is still a dangerous game to play even with a small polar bear. When we work in those areas we have a bear watch with a gun to keep everyone safe. Those bears are sneaky and quiet when approaching you / supper.
The bear watch does not shoot to kill, unless absolutely necessary. Usually the bear is just scared away.
